dbguy4eva- Well my BF is ****ing me off at the moment. I will taunt him with the numerous men I will be in contact with when I finally transfer. Muahahaha.

Lackofsense - Sweet. My essays are pretty strong then. BALLIN'

So stressful! I just want to see accepted/rejected, so then I can start sending out my appeal.

I feel that I should share this piece of information...

The UCLA representative I spoke to is 2nd in command for the actual process of reading the applications. She only comes to my CCC once a year and I managed to book a slot with her 3 months in advanced (everyone else that comes is some lacky from the admissions office). She looked very tired and very hungry. So as she ate her salad, I asked her about the essays.

I remember what she told me, almost verbatim, b/c what she told me completely took me by surprise.

"Can I be honest with you? Ok, we don't really read the essays unless you're borderline. If you have a solid GPA, all of you pre-req's done, and completed IGETC, we won't be judging you on your essays (most likely). Now, we may read it to make sure that you can conjugate your verbs and can use pronouns. Otherwise, we have so many applications to go through, we just don't have time to read all of the essays."

My jaw dropped and I was wondering if she wast just trying to shaft me. But the look on her face was weary and dead serious. She also added something about not just slacking off on the essays, but not to lose sleep over it.

I don't see why she would lie to me, or to ANY student. It's not like I was going away, I had a 10 minute slot and when I was done (at 7 minutes), she asked me to sit there for 3 minutes b/c she didn't want to start with a new student ASAP. lol, poor lady.

But when I told this to my friends, none of them believed me... maybe I come off as really gullible. lol.

I read that they didn't read your essays in another post on here as well. I believe you! If you're just not even close to borderline, they just throw out your application.
