For my UC Essays, I am not really sure what to write about. I haven’t experienced some life changing event or tragedy, and I don’t consider myself to be a colorful or interesting person. I am not being lazy, I am having genuine trouble thinking of something. Does anyone have any advice or tips/ideas? It would be appreciated.

I have the same issue as you with not being a “colorful” or “interesting” person, and I also haven’t had a life-changing event, but that’s not what the college essay is about. The college essay is maybe a short story or anecdote that demonstrates the admissions officers what you have to offer on their campus as a person and why they would want to accept you. You can honestly take any old ordinary story and make it more creative, as long as it shows who you are.
You can always look up CommonApp prompts to see what will best demonstrate your character.
I’m not an expert, but that’s what I’m going to do.
