UC essay -how many are there?

So for the UC essay, there is pick 4 out of 8 personal insight questions AND the personal statement ? Is that it? So I have to do both of them?

It is the 4 PI questions (out of 8) and the Personal Insight Additional Comments which is optional and should only be used for info that isn’t elsewhere and is significant. There isn’t a personal statement - I think you are referring to the additional comment section?

Would anyone know if these are 4 different short essays or can we/should we blend them all together and have them relating but still separate?
