<p>You’ve given me hope. I thought all they were sending out right now were waitlisted people. mine still says under consideration. if I get in, the first thing i’m going to do is march down to the admissions office and thank them for giving me a month long heart attack.</p>

<p>I was accepted to UCSB and invited to a reception for high achieving applicants, and rejected from UCI this morning. My SAT was a 2290. But my GPA was only a 3.65. So that’s my explanation for UCI. I’m guessing your son was just on the bubble. But waitlisted isn’t rejected. So stay positive!</p>
