@pinkc1 well I hope you get in so good luck! lol I got waitlisted from davis so Irvine is one of my only options
Just got two rejections from my reaches today, and don’t have much hope for the other two I’m still waiting on. I’m not as sad as I thought I would be though. I really do feel blessed for the opportunity to attend Irvine for the next four years since it’s been one of my dream schools since middle school.
I am planning on submitting my SIR after I attend the Discover UCI day on April 9th! I’m excited to be an anteater next year, and to spend four years with all my Irvine-heads.
I got accepted to UCD, UCSD, UCSB, and UCI. UCLA rejected me though.
I think I’ll go to Irvine.

Really wanting to go here! Accepted in civil engineering
Got waitlisted at UCSD and UCLA. Assuming I don’t get in from the waitlist, I’m deciding between UCI, UCD and UCSB for pre med. Leaning towards Davis, but I’m not sure. UCI is solid as well.
I got into irvine and applied for aerospace engineering but got undeclared. Can I still get engineering?
@niktheslick I’m trying to decide between davis and irvine what’s making you lean towards davis?
@ecruz22 I have visited both campuses (I suggest you do the same if you haven’t already) and I like the atmosphere of Davis. The campus is nice, the people are nice, and it has a college town feel. Also, I have lived in SoCal all my life and I kind of want change. In regards to the education offered at both, they are both pretty close, but UCD is close to UCSD in the rankings when it comes to pre med. So the major does indeed matter. Comp Sci may be better at Irvine versus at Davis. It depends on a lot of factors. Ultimately, go with what your gut says because both universities are ranked in the top 50 in the United States, so you’ll get a quality education from both. When deciding which one to attend, it comes down to the small things.
I’m planning on going here too and majoring in biomedical engineering Does anyone know about the whole housing situation like mesa vs middle earth? Which one is actually better??
@sRina97 I’ve been trying to decide on the housing! I’ve heard that Mesa court has the bigger dorms but middle earth has the better dining hall so we basically have to decide between bigger dorms or better food lol
Middle earth is also closer to classes and I just read that middle earth is also more like dorm living than Mesa court is.
@emejia17 yea I’ve heard that too!! But some people also say that Mesa is more fun and social so I really don’t know
@sRina97 I’ve actually heard the opposite lol…I’m really stuck. I don’t know which to pick!
@emejia17 really?? well that makes it even more confusing lol!
@sRina97 it’s weird that irvine only has two options for freshmen to pick from…I know davis has A LOT of options lol
@emejia17 ikr! It sucks
@sRina97 I feel like I’ll probably go with Middle Earth? I was set on Mesa Court but after reading people’s comments on it I’m not so sure now. I’m planning on attending the Discover UCI days though and they give housing tours there
99% sure I’ll be attending. Got accepted into their nursing program
I would say there is no difference in “social life” between the two housing communities. It really depends on who you meet and which hall you get put into. I find ME to be a lot more convenient as it’s so close to my classes, Mesa is too far off to the side for science majors IMO.
