Can someone tell me average stats for a biological sciences major? Im so scared that I will get rejected and UCI is my first choice. (I have been accepted to Chico, Humboldt, Dominican, WSU, and a few others.) I realize that my stats are low. My essays were okay.
UC GPA- 4.2
GPA- 3.98/4.5
SAT- 1150
ACT- 23
3 yrs ago they did rolling and according to websites they are doing rolling again so until you get to March 31st I wouldnt assume anything unless you get an email or your portal is updated. My daughter didnt find out until the very end of March @lilaclily
In 2016 my daughter was accepted on March 19 into Electrial Engineering. I recall about a week went by from the time that non-Honors acceptances starting appearing on College Confidential and the time she was accepted. UCI definitely admits on a rolling basis.
i have a 4.4 weighted, 29 act, and tons of ec’s, really good essays (i got help from a college-admissions tutor), pretty significant circumstances (best friend died from cancer my sophomore year, family almost lost house junior year) → do yall think i have a good chance being accepted for biological sciences? i was weightlisted at cal poly slo (denied from davis :/) but irvine is my top choice ::::://///
To all applicants asking if they got denied at one campus, will they be competitive at other UC campuses and the answer is YES. Each UC will review their applicants based on their criteria. Some give more weight to GPA vs Test scores vs Essays vs EC’s. It is very hard to predict how you will fare at all the UC’s since each one is looking to put together a diverse class of in-coming Freshman. Having gone through the process with both my son’s and numerous friends and relatives, you will all land on your feet and be successful where ever you go. My favorite quote is “bloom where planted” and remember where you go for Undergrad will not define you, it is what you do with the opportunities you are given that will make you successful. Best of luck.
@Coopy1: It depends upon which major you want to change into. You could message admissions and ask but since the majority of the decisions have been made and decisions will be coming shortly, it might not be possible.
UCI admits into the University first and then into the major, so it is possible to get into UCI as Undeclared or Alternate Major. Did you select an alternate major?
