I got in does that mean I got a scholarship or what?
Edit: I got regents and i didnt see it haha
So, how much scholarship is Regents? Is it full tuition?
Accepted w/CHP
4.08 UC GPA, 1490 SAT
Chemical Engineering
EC’s: Swim, Tutoring Job, Science Olympiad
@ivyforest No, its only 2,500$ per year.
Oh ok. Thanks!
Congrats to all of those who got accepted! Does anyone know if regents and CHP are being released on a rolling basis or have all of those decisions been released? I got Regents candidacy at UC Berkeley but I didn’t get Regents at UCSB or UCI. Should I be concerned? I am very happy that I got Cal but I’m nervous that I’m going to get rejected to the ones closer to home.
I just found out that my girlfriend and I got accepted to UCI this morning with honors program!!! I’m so excited. Not sure if I will commit to UCI but it always feels good getting accepted. I got accepted two days ago to UCSB too. First two UC’s down :). Gpa is 4.2 with 31 act
@Kojisan congrats! Are you in-state?
(I’m a mom btw) so I’ve been noticing this a lot lately- If all the website information for ALL the UC’s says that decisions begin to come out on March first, how are people getting them early if there is zero information on the dates that the people that got in with Honors, and when they get notified? My daughter applied to UCI, UCSD, UCR, UCLA and UCSB and she hasn’t gotten any notification on where she got in, yet there’s some kind of secret acceptance notification that people are receiving. Yes, the UC system is huge, but theres no way they would leave out something that important anywhere on their website. Do you have a screenshot of your acceptance? It’s crazy how people are getting accepted in February when all official websites say that its March first that they officially begin, and I recently called and admissions informed me that they haven’t given out any acceptances yet.’
Thanks!
@road2college2018 ,They don’t begin to give out acceptances until March 1st, are people in a special program or something? Regents CHP and Regular come out at the same time.
@collegenerd365 Only a certain top percent (10-20?) at UCSB and UCI have heard by email. Regular decisions are still to come. Mostly people that have been invited into the Honors programs at those schools. UCI will keep rolling them out for a while, UCSD will come out mid-March (March 10 last year), and UCLA and UCSB were about a week after that. Your child will get an email when their decision is up on the portal.
@stevensonjj0, UCI isn’t rolling admissions, how’d you get notified so quickly?
Hi it happens traditionally every year for select notifications for some UCs such as UCB, UCI, UCSB on various weeks in Feb. In 2016, my son had high stats and was instate and did not hear early from any UC but got into all but UCB for Elec. Eng including some regents. But got all the news on various dates in March. Sp try not to stress and it will all be clear in a,few more weeks. Wishing you good acceptance thoughts!
@cbdmom , this seems absolutely mind-blowing to me. The website says all admissions decisions start to come out the same day. Do you have a screenshot of your daughters acceptance? The acceptances shouldn’t be out yet, its not March 1st
@meb1meb1 , do you have official information that says they traditionally send out select notifications in February? I called admissions a while ago, and they said they don’t do anything of that sort.
@collegenerd365 My D was accepted to UCI CHP today. I logged on and saw it on her portal. I think it’s pretty obvious at this point that admission decisions do not come out on the same day for every campus.
She didn’t get any early notification from UCSB. Guess UCI liked something in her app that UCSB didn’t (her stats are in the ballpark with others who got the UCSB admission).
@youcee where on the website does it verify that information?
@SCAnteater what were her stats? Mine are 1510 sat and 4.25 uc GPA and I haven’t gotten anything yet. Do u think I might get it later? Since it’s rolling

@party123 Her stats were 4.2ish GPA (I don’t know that I ever saw the exact number) and 32 ACT. You seem to be in the ballpark! I don’t know if they do it by school – she’s in the School of Humanities.
@collegenerd365 That’s just from experience gained the last few years during my kids college process. Following this site you can see the same general patterns happening each year at these schools. I don’t think it says anywhere on their websites that they have early releases and they don’t have a specific date posted for regular acceptances.
