UC Irvine gets approval for law school

Looks like UCI is finally getting their law school.

isnt ucsd getting their law school in 2011?

I wouldnt expect to see another law school for at least another 30 years. The last UC school to get a law school was UCD and that was 40 years ago.

UCR was also considering a law school but they shelved it to focus on their medical school. So maybe in time, they will be the next UC school to have a law school.

no they are still actively trying to get both

UCR shelved it, (at least for now) to focus on their medical school. With UCI getting a law school, it will take several years, if not decades for another UC to get a law school.

"This time around, UC Riverside withdrew its proposal, opting to lobby for a medical school." http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-me-law16nov16,1,5358898.story

thats weird, it was such big news last year, and ironically the press enterprise i found at my front door yesterday or today, dont know what days it was, had a nice lengthy story about that as well

Hmm . . . I wonder if they'll allow UCR to build a law school anytime soon. Or the medical school they want. We shall see. I predict the medical school will be approved within the next 5-6 years, and the law school will not for a long time (if ever), but who knows.

everything i have read thus far indicates the medical school will be at the riverside community hospital with the classrooms being in an entire new building
