My daughter is also waiting on Merced. She too was wait listed at UC Santa Cruz. That surprised me as her GPA was only 3.3. Had good SAT scores, 1320. BTW, anyone have experience with waitlists…
The usual deal with waitlists is that you hear sometime in May and they rarely clear. That said, a classmate of my daughter’s cleared one for Johns Hopkins 3 years ago. It does happen. If you’ve already accepted somewhere and provided a deposit, it should be refundable if you’ve cleared a waitlist. But of course double checking ahead of time is a good idea to set your expectations.
Andreq (don’t know how to insert the link), which easter schools is your son considering? Our older daughter did NOT want to stay in California. We insisted that she apply to some UC campuses along with her eastern selections. She ended up at Colgate and is LOVING it. (My wallet isn’t so enamoured.) In 2 weeks, this will all be a memory and our children will have made their decisions.
