I’m currently a senior deciding between UC Merced and San Jose State University. I know they’re both drastically different population/environment-wise, but I wouldn’t mind either situation. Also, tuition cost isn’t a huge deciding factor for me. I plan on possibly transfering to a better school depending on which school I go to. If not, I’ll get my bachelor’s in Poli Sci at the college I go to. Which school is best for me (keep in mind that my ultimate plan is to go to law school)? Thanks!
assuming you got no aid, they are probably similar in cost , the higher tuition of UCM is probably offset by the much lower rent. Academically, I’d give the edge to UCM but, not by a wide margin. The student experience is where they differ most significantly and, which is ‘best’ is a personal decision. Do you want to attend a big school where you will fight traffic getting to and from class - but can go to D1 football game and have all the perks/drawbacks that come with a dense urban population? Or, do you prefer a smaller, more rural community that’s close to Yosemite?
