***UC Riverside Class of 2023 - Applicant and Decision Thread***

Dude I got rejected from both UCSD and UCLA yesterday so my expectations are very low. Thank god for cal states

I am pretty sure a big wave comes out on Monday but that is if UCR is following the same decision release schedule as last year

Did your friend try to repeal it?

@emmam01

@yzj: I think you mean appeal?

@Gumbymom Yes, I misspelt it.

Do you know what is the chance to succeed on that?

You have to have a new reason not stated in your first application that explains why you feel like you should’ve gotten in (mostly about your stats)

@yzj: Very few appeals are granted. As stated by @j678jgpo, you need new and compelling information beyond the original presented on your application. Getting good grades Senior year is not a valid reason since all admissions are provisional and you are expected to perform your best academically.

Do you have a link for it??

@Sonnie1245: A link for what?

@yzj it was me who got rejected, and i might appeal ucsd we’ll see

I am still waiting for a decision…I know they say we have until the 30th for a decision but it really feels like it is taking forever. Anyone else in the same boat as me? Also stuck with a notification in my announcement box.

I still haven’t heard back. Major : CS GPA : 3.7 SAT: 1500
Hoping for the worst now. Anyone know if they are still sending out acceptances ?

I wish they would stop keeping us on the hook. Just let us know one way or the other so we can move on.

@kennethh4503 i’m waiting too

Hoping this helps those who are waiting to hear. UCR makes no sense to me. My identical twin sons applied to the same schools for engineering and except for UCR, received the same results usually on the same day: accepted to SLO, Santa Clara, Mines, USD, SDSU and Irvine. Waitlisted to UCSB, UCD and UCSD. Being identical twins, their essays, grades and stats were almost the same. My son with a 34 ACT, 4.1 UC goa and 800 math 2 subject test and 760 Pysics subject test is still waiting to hear from Riverside. However his brother with a 33 ACT and a slightly lower gpa and slightly lower subject test scores was accepted over a month ago. I called to inquire about the timing of acceptances and was told it is rolling and random, even if two people turned in their applications the same day.

That happened to my other friend and me too. We have almost the same score, and he got accepted on the first day. I’m still waiting for it.

i am waiting for a decision as well

I got accepted at UCR in mechanical engineer about 1 month ago and invited in honor program. In state, GPA 4.2; SAT 1400. SAT 2 math 2 test subject: 690 and Chem :660. Lots of extra curriculum and leadership. Also got accepted at:CPP, CSUN, CSULB,SDSU, Santa Clara, University of British Colombia, LMU. Got denied at: Purdue, USC, UCLA,UCD, UCSB, UCD, and still waiting for Irvine.
