Anyone receive their financial aid?

No, I ain’t see anything about financial aid

Looking at last year’s post the financial award letter was released on 3/28. So hopefully it will come soon.

Thanks for replying.
I will update you guys if I get something.

Financial reward just updated you guys can check it out

Yea I got my Financial Aid right now

The financial aid award my son was given really doesn’t help us. We still need to pay $31k with housing. Who can afford that right now? What a bummer. Anyway else unhappy with their award?

@AttorneysRock yes we are very unhappy. Something doesn’t seem right. We qualify for the blue/gold yet they have the full tuition listed with no mention of the blue/gold.

Be sure to email the financial aid department immediately. They are very quick to respond. They even emailed me last night at 8:52 pm and told me in August they will take financial aid appeals. I think that is ironic as it will be long after we have given our admission and housing deposit—-which if we don’t get a better aid package won’t be refundable. Let me know what they tell you! Blue & Gold is a fabulous program.

@AttorneysRock yes I did email them. They responded this afternoon. And cleared it up. At first look the award looks confusing. Mostly because they put all the “expected” costs on there. So it has been cleared up and I feel much better. Hope you got your settled too.

@lisa9521

Congrats! That is so awesome.

I’m a little confused. When will they release the waitlist acceptance emails?

Public service announcement regarding fall 2020 instruction and housing. My son received an admissions update email yesterday and below are some key points:

“…due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result of those substantial global, national, and local changes, it’s possible that some or all instruction for the 2020–21 academic year may need to be delivered remotely. Tuition and mandatory fees have been set at all University of California campuses, regardless of the method of instruction, and will not be refunded or reduced in the event there is a decision made that instruction will occur remotely.”

“Unfortunately, it is not possible to know at this time whether the COVID-19 pandemic will allow for normal operations at our on-campus housing facilities. Consequently, we are not offering a housing guarantee at this time. Our decision to open housing for all or any part of the 2020–21 academic year will be driven by protecting the health and safety of you, your fellow students, and the staff who support you.”
