**uc riverside class of 2024 discussion thread**

@Chw134 as per last years admissions, I think the next batch of admissions comes at the end of this week. Probably on Friday or maybe the beginning of next week.

Anyone know the significance of how they roll out admissions? Is there any rhyme or reason to it? Also any thoughts on why a student would get regents or chancellor’s at a higher ranked UC but not a UCR? Thanks

Should I be worried that my application is still under review because half of my friends have been accepted, but the other half haven’t heard?

Guys, I’m telling you again and again. It is confirmed news. If you haven’t heard back yet, you will not be getting an acceptance. Don’t have false hope. Just move on and hope for the best from other colleges. You guys can say whatever you want but I am saying it with conviction that you will not be accepted if you haven’t heard back yet. It’s either that your stats are straight trash or you applied to an impacted major and there were better candidates than you. Get over it and move on please.

@tommy2423 How is it confirmed news if there hasn’t been a single word from the admissions office? So basically, you are telling me and everyone on this thread that they accepted everyone in one day and are basically going to reject everyone else? How does that even make any sense? If anything, rejection and waitlist should have already been out if that’s the case.

This is nonsense. Over tens of thousands have applied to UCR this year. The prior year acceptance rate was over 50%. Which means that thousands were accepted (UCR has low yield). The response on this thread is not indicative of your statement that all the acceptances have been sent out. UCR releases decisions on a rolling basis as they did last year. Decisions continued for about 2 to 3 weeks after the first posting based on a review of the thread from last year. You are the one spreading false information!!

@Whiskey6920 exactly & @tommy2423 if they really decided to only accept people on the first day of admission decisions, everyone else would have already been rejected like either the 2nd day or the third day…so please stop trying to put everyone down by saying what you’re saying because there’s no way that people who have lower gpa and stats than me have gotten accepted where as me who has above a 4.0 gpa and a 1560 SAT did not get a decision back yet.

I don’t think that’s accurate either. It’s rolling, so not 1 day and then no more acceptances. We heard already but then the next 2 days more people got accepted, so it’s definitely not just one day of acceptances.

@tommy2423 if you are studying pre-med, there’s better schools out there other than UCR so i am curious as to why you chose UCR…cuz dang if you really are doing pre-med, there’s UCLA, Berkeley, UCI, Davis, and Stanford, and etc so does that mean you were never accepted into those schools cuz of your low stats and your trash essays lol…so it really be your trash essays and your trash stats that got you to only UCR…cuz tbh, if I were you and going into medicine, I wouldn’t have chosen UCR rather I would have chosen better schools with better programs if I got into those. But what I don’t like is you’re accusing me of having trash essays. You haven’t even read my essays so you can’t dare to say a word about them.

@samkr14 the reason why I chose UCR was because of cost constraints. UCR was generous enough to grant FAFSA aid to my family. Due to cost issues, I had to go to UCR.

@tommy2423 well then you should be happy that you at least got into UCR and that they gave you a grant. but with that kind of ego, I wouldn’t show that on other people. Learn how to be nice! It will get you through college and life bro.

@samkr14 sure man, I’m sorry if I came across harsh!

@tommy2423 totally fine! but I just didn’t really like it when you said my essays were trash lol cuz like u can’t just say that! but you’re totally fine and no worries and I hope you’re having a great time at UCR. Good luck with everything! :slight_smile:

For those still waiting to hear, my D2 didn’t receive an email or any kind of notification, she just checked her portal on Tuesday (3/3) and it said she was admitted. She still hasn’t had any email notification. Same thing with UC Merced. Portal was updated and she was accepted, no email yet.

Keep checking your portals and don’t give up hope yet!

@samkr14:
@tommy2423 actually made a good decision as a Pre-Med. UCR has a new Medical school and offers a great program: Thomas Haider which has guaranteed spots for UCR students.

Medical schools do not care where you go for Undergrad. What is important is a High GPA, High MCAT score and access to Medically related EC’s.

@tommy2423: Good luck with your studies.

Now back to the decision discussion. Just wanted to clarify any misconceptions.

@Gumbymom
Is the Regents $2,500/yr * 4 years = $10,000
or $10,000/yr * 4 years = $40,000?

@Gregmacd: $10,000/year for Regents.

Maybe someone could call to clear it all up.

I don’t know if they’d give a good answer but its worth a shot.
