admitted bioeng! instate northern california student!
@boba345 congratulations!! Were u admitted tonight?
@Deambre thank you! admitted a few days ago!
will there be any decisions that come out today?
Purely based on last years thread, the first acceptances came out on 3/1/2019 and lasted through 3/26/19. The first waitlists started on 3/27/2019. There is still a lot of time & waiting left to do. I’m definitely not a fan of rolling decisions…try to be patient (not easy) & hopefully there is good news for all!
Very insightful post.
@tommy2423 and @Gumbymom
You guys mentioned Thomas Haider has 25 spots for UCR students, does the undergraduate major matters? Any idea how to qualify for those spots?
I also heard what matters is GPA and MCAT. the university rank does not matter.
@capcase: I have no direct knowledge about the Thomas Haider program other than some information from some “Pre-Med” potential applicants (friends of son) that are currently attending UCR.
Here is information regarding the Early Assurance program which does not require an MCAT score to apply.
As a possible Medical school applicant, you can select any major to apply. You just need to fulfill the Medical school course requirements. See below on the link:

The medical program is the major motivation for my case too. Thanks for your information.

@samkr14 if you call the admissions office they can tell you when ur decision should be coming out!

Does anyone know if decisions will come out as scheduled; or will they change due to COVID-19
@Deambre: Decisions for Freshman applicants are already out. What scheduled decisions are you referring? UCR tends to do rolling admissions throughout March.
@Gumbymom Im a freshman applicant and I still haven’t received a decision. My portal still says that my application is under review.
@Deambre: UCR does rolling admissions so you should hear by the end of March. Sorry I cannot give you anything more concrete.
@Deambre I feel so sorry for you! My grandson is still waiting for several colleges’ decisions as well! His friends and classmates were already accepted or either waitlisted.
