UC Riverside Freshman Class of 2026 Discussion

Unfortunately they had a cap of 250 students into the program and from those that were accepted it was basically first come first served till they got to the 250. :slightly_frowning_face:

Did you speak with anyone from Honor program?

My daughter got this email yesterday afternoon but didn’t see it till this evening and the office was already closed for the weekend. She got the same message about the cap of 250 and to get on the waitlist for next year. We plan to contact them on Monday. Hoping it’s a glitch and all students accepted will be able to join!

The administrative director of University Honors stated this in an email he sent at the beginning of the week:

“Because we can only accommodate a maximum of 250 students in the first-year cohort, the first 250 students to accept their offer of admission will be admitted to University Honors for their first year at UCR. Students who are not among the first 250 students to accept their offer of admission will be offered automatic admission to the second-year cohort of University Honors, beginning Fall Quarter 2023, providing that they remain interested in University Honors during their first year at UCR and providing that they remain eligible for University Honors during their first year by earning at least a 3.5 GPA for fall quarter and winter quarter of their first year.”

Thank you

yes S22 had a similar experience. It was full within few hours :frowning:

Anyone received any news on housing selection or what to bring for orientation?

No info yet…I’m guessing it’ll be covered at orientation. The only guidance we received was via email related to COVID protocol for orientation (students need to submit vaccination info via portal before orientation and once we get closer to orientation family will be emailed a form to complete re: being fully vaccinated or negative PCR test within 48 hours of orientation).
