“Considering the volume of already accepted students”
Source, please?

Any non local non Asian acceptances? Seeing a huge bias in these posts.

I’m really confused because I haven’t received a definitive email saying that I’ve been rejected or accepted. Does UCSD take a while to notify all their admitted students?

Decision: Accepted

Objective:[ul]
[] SAT I (critical reading+mathematics): 2270
[
] ACT: 35
[] GPA: 3.98 uw, 4.46 w
[
] AP (place score in parenthesis): APES (3), AP Psych (3), WHAP (3), AP Chem (3), AP Physics 1 (4), AP Lang (5), AP Calc AB (5), APUSH (5)
[] Senior Year Course Load: AP Calc BC, AP Biology, AP Macro/Micro, AP Gov, AP Stats, AP Lit
[
] How were your personal statements? Rate out of 10, including the additional comments section: 9/10 After writing them, I was pretty sure I couldn’t do any better describing myself and whatever my story was that could give them insight into my life lol.
[li] Supplemental?: No[/li]
[/ul]Other[ul]
[]** Intended Major **: Bioengineering
[
] Freshman, Transfer, Graduate/Professional or Returning?: Freshman
[] Are you from California? If not, from what state & county (city)? If so, what county (city)?: Yes
[
] School Type: Public
[] Ethnicity: Asian
[
] Gender: Female
[] Income Bracket: ~40K
[
] # of Family Members: 5
[] Level of Education of Parents/Guardians: Some high school
[
] Hooks (URM, first generation college, research, etc.): URM, athletics
[li] Living on-campus? Yes[/li]
[/ul]Reflection[ul]
[] Strengths: Obviously athletics help haha. Otherwise it’s my stats and my essays.
[
] Weaknesses: AP scores but not like they count for admissions anyways. ECAs were okay, nothing too special. NMSC Finalist, President, sports captain and record holder, one internship. Nothing too STEM-my going on haha.
[] Are you going to UCSD: Possibly.
[
] If not, where are you going?: Probably Cal (was accepted early for Regents candidate). Was also accepted to Georgia Tech, Cal Poly SLO, JHU (but released from ED contract), UCI (Regents/CHP). I’d love to do sports at UCSD, but I also want to focus on my studies, and UCSD is the only school where I’d be doing NCAA sports, which is difficult but rewarding.

[/ul]General Comments/Additional Information:[list]
Sorry on behalf of everyone who got the March 30th message. I’ve been waiting 3 months since being deferred from UMich EA, but one day we’ll get our decisions… lol

I didn’t get any call and my portal says decisions will be out by March 30. Im out of state so nervous right now help.

Can we change our colleges in UCSD. For example, I have been admitted to 6th, but I want to transfer to any other college. 6th College was not my last choice on the application.

[ *] SAT II: Math 2: 680 BIO M: 660 CHEM: 620[ *] CSU GPA: 19.6 out of 20
[ *] Senior Year Course Load: Well in my school we follow the standard curriculum of my country so it is pretty hard, however, I don’t get to pick what courses I can take.[ *] How were your personal statements?
Essay 1 (9/10): Well I talked about my first day on sailing school and how this kid just taught me everything I needed to know. Then it was my time to prove my knowledge and I prevented the boat from crashing. I think it was ok, maybe not my best essay. Nonetheless, I like how I related it to how knowledge sometimes comes from the most unexpected places.
Essay 2 (8/10): I talked about how by lactose intolerance has set a lot of limitations for me but I never really allowed them to get to me. I really liked this essay but I spent a lot of time and words on the other one.
[ *] Supplemental?: No, I didn’t submit anything
[ /list][ b]Other[ /b][ list]
[ *][ b] Intended Major [ /b]: Bioengineering but got accepted in my second choice biochemistry and cellular biology.

[ *] Orphan?: No
[ *] # of Family Members: 2
[ *] Level of Education of Parents/Guardians: College
[ *] Hooks (URM, first generation college, research, etc.): Well I won a research award in COSMOS UCSD which I think helped me a lot. I don’t think being international helped my case so…
[ *] Living on-campus? Yes, Muir
[ /list][ b]Reflection[ /b][ list]
[ *] Strengths: Well I think my extracurriculars are solid, including MUN, Editor in chief and founder of a newspaper, founder and producer of a radio show and over 80 hours of community service including teaching MUN to underprivileged teenagers, member of a dance group, and working in creating an app for my school. I also really liked my essays. Maybe my research in COSMOS gave me an advantage.
[ *] Weaknesses: Definitely my SAT scores, being an international student and my subject tests.
[ /list][ b]General Comments/Additional Information:[ /b][ list]
Congratulations to everyone who got in! I hope this helps not many internationals posting their stats on the page.

@Salutation intercollege transfers are extremely rare. you’d have to show that your college’s GEs are gonna impact your graduation date significantly (sixth’s won’t) and even if you transferred you’d still have to complete the sixth writing sequence

check your account on the portal! I checked it in the morning and the decision was up. oh and I got email in the evening so even if you didn’t get your email with your decision it should be on my application website.

@kebbabb But did you check prior to receiving the email? Those who received the email generally received their admission to UCSD at around 3 PM PST

@jackisawesome yes
