Acceptance rate by major data is not available at UCSD but as a Capped major probably in the 10% or less range.

I want to reach out and say i hope your son makes UCB. My applicant was waitlisted at both UCSD and UCI but made LA. which makes me think each school is unique. We had literally no hopes. Applicant is similar high stats but applied mathematics not engr. I didnt believe it when people said keep the faith, but now i can tell - keep the faith. There is a place waiting for your student too. Best wishes and good luck
