UC San Diego Class of 2027 Official Thread

I don’t know where she already committed, but remember, the UCs are on the quarter system. This is the last week of spring quarter. Next week is finals week. The 2023-34 school year doesn’t start until late September. Orientation, class registration, etc. won’t happen until this school year is finished.

What college was she admitted to at UCSD? You can likely look up registration dates on their website. (ex. Revelle)

How does UCSD (7th College specifically) determine what credit is received for AP exams taken for incoming freshmen in fall 2023?

Is it based on the current 2023-2024 AP credit chart (https://catalog.ucsd.edu/_files/advanced-placement-credit-chart.pdf)?

Or is it based on the AP credit chart that was published when the AP exam was taken, like https://web.archive.org/web/20220712114714/https://catalog.ucsd.edu/_files/advanced-placement-credit-chart.pdf for spring 2022 AP exams (HS junior year)?

I’m guessing that it is based on when the AP exam was taken given the line “Credit and/or placement listed is based on 2022–23 exams” on the current chart and an equivalent one for last year’s exams on last year’s chart. Also, her UCSD “degree audit” currently shows GE credit for the Social Sciences area but we’re not sure if that has been updated yet or not.

Specifically, it looks like 7th College just changed the GE credit awarded for AP US History. My daughter partly took AP US History her junior year because she would get 2 courses worth of 7th College GE credit in the Humanities area (like her class of 2025 brother did).

Usually, it is based on the year you start at UCSD.

I have my enrollment window on Aug 28 and the community college courses are still not showing up in Webreg. Will it let me enroll in Chem 6B if I have finished Chem 6A at community college? Or will it be required for my community college course to show up on Webreg before I can enroll in Chem 6b ? @SDmom8 @lkg4answers
