oh man... we still have another month or so don't we... la di da...

Uc Berkeley Here I Come!!!

oh man, i don't know what i would do if i don't get into berkeley...i'm going crazy over berkeley more than i've ever been crazy about a girl...hahaha...i'm such a loser... =)

lol...i can understand you ccct.

ccct, i know exactly how you feel. i sat in a DeCal class last night (DeCal = program at Cal where students can teach classes); the "teacher" is a friend of mine. To be sure, it wasn't a real Berkeley class, but d*mn it, the campus looks beautiful at night (although walking around the area isn't exactly very safe). The campus was so alive and... ugh, i'm just gonna sit on the floor and cry if i don't get in :(

damnit...i wish I got into CAL :(

On another note, I just lost a lot of money in the stock market.

mexbruin:

i had been in contact with a ucla counselor since the moment i began at a cc. she told me exactly what i needed to mention, which were 3 things: leadership potential, ability to handle university-level course work, and (i'm not sure what the last one was but i think it was) what i can bring to the university... she also told me that i should have my recommendations mentions this, too

Missklee, those sound pretty close to what the actually essay prompts were. Also what recommendations, as far as I know none of the UC's required any recommendations.

MissKLee:

Those sound like the questions to the UC application

allena, nikkei325i:

they may sound close, but that's exactly what my ucla counselor told me. i don't exactly remember the last one, though. when you appeal you're supposed to send recommendations. i'm not sure if the site tells you that but she [the counselor] told me to include them. i got 5 and included the best 3. also, out of the 3 things she told me to address, she told me to emphasize 'the ability to handle university-level work'...

Missklee and I have been told the UC just throw recommenation letters in the trash can for UG admissions.

I came home today and someone from the UCB financial aid office left a message on the machine. Did anyone else receive a call? What did they want?

collegebabe2005

did you include your physical disability in your personal statement? but don't worry you have good stats, you'll get in to UCLA

thanks for the encouragement! I am putting my disability in the personal statement. It's rare so it will make for a good "hook". okay...that sounded weird. Anyway, I appreciate any kind words because my dad keeps telling people that I don't have a chance!

Perhaps you were being sarcastic about your dad (in an odd way) but no offense your dad is an a$$. Seriously, your parents are supposed to encourage NOT discourage you. Does he want you to fail in life? I sure hope he doesn't.
