UC Transfer Applicants - Come Join

I hope there wasn't any early decisions for UCB. I haven't heard of anyone getting in.

it doesn't come as a surprise to me that i wasn't accepted to ucsb after giving it some thought. i designed my course work around ucla, ucb and ucsd's lower division course requirements which vary greatly to ucsb (and ucd for that matter)

as a comparison to the other schools i've applied to here is what i've completed compared to recommended

UCB 3/4 (4th is offered only at 1 time and at a distant location to my campus)
UCLA 3/3
UCSB 1/2
UCI 2/2 (accepted here)
UCSD 2/2

There have be no decisions for UCB. They stat on the website that they will post during the evening of the 29th.

Silver:

You are IGETC certified, so I'm guessing you are talking about major requirements? What are the 2 courses you needed to complete for UCSB?

I'm a history major, too, and waiting to hear back from UCSB. But I was told on the ASSIST site that I needed to complete 5 (semester unit) classes. I didn't complete the 5th, because I found out they will not accept the history class I took last semester, although it is UC transferrable.

Does this spell disaster for me, too?

i miss 2 o-chem which are not offered this quarter, according to assist.org.

well, i did all the requirements for Davis, and got accepted everywhere else, (SB, M, SC, and I)
havent receive anything from them!!!!!

silver00v6: so you are missing only ONE course for UCSB?? that seems kinda harsh

sorry, my better half clarified for me that i didn't even finish one whole section so really it was 0/3 i finished 1 of the 2 sequences offered at my CCC. the mistake i made was that if i had taken one more class i would have finished 2 sequences and thusly, 1 section. still would have been missing 1 section (1 class) though.

courses taken: 120, 121 and 140

ohh ic...just keep in mind missing 2 classes (for Davis) only reduces your chance but will not mean rejection....

By the way I missed 4 @ UCSB...they were not even articulated...This makes it wierd

i just called davis, they told me that decisions are made on random basis, and for those of us who didn't get it, a decision has not yet been made.

thanks blackdream...
that gives me hope :)

ucla was the only college that i ever looked at on assist.org. I'm missing two classes from sb, but i was accepted there. unfortunately i just checked out ucsd's, and i'm missing a lot there.

if the courses were not articulated then you are not responsible...I think..

Yeah, none of mine were articulated for history at UCSD, but the courses on their side of the page were U.S. History. So I completed the U.S. History sequence at my CC and just hoped for the best.

Wouldn't it suck to have to take that year of classes over, even though it was the same thing?? I hope they don't do that!

im missing equivalent of engr 40 and assembly language(just 2 classes), originally i was plannin to go to irvine but recently have my hopes on davis.
including fall i had overall 3.4
i need 3.5 (i can get that after this semester)

im callin them again today, to see if i shud go to transfer day tomorrrow, ill be posting again .

unless u were talkin to the dean, mary ramirez, those office workers only know about pending applications but not about rejections. i asked them have any rejections been sent out? he says he doesn't know

so its possible that ppl have been rejected but didnt receive any notification yet. cuz since transfer picnic day is morrow, it just doesn't make sense to tell us later, picnic at irvine is also tomorrow

you pretty much mean that all of us who havent receive anything from davis are rejected????? :(

unggio83, i was transfered to a transfer person who specialize in transfer.

his words had three points:

we don't withhold rejection, we send them out immediately.

the picnic tomorrow is not a transfer picnic provided for transfer student only.

they are an amount of decisions that haven't been made, and decisions are made on random basis.

on the other hand, i know another 4.0 student who haven't get anything yet. he completed every major course and has IGTEC completed. i wonder if he will be rejected...

i really hope ur right, for my own sake
