UC Transfer Applicants - Come Join

Post #681...On our way to 800...maybe 1000 !!

I think this thread is going to take off in about two weeks. As soon as the 29th rolls around there is going to be a flury of posting from everybody. I've heard from all my schools except UCLA and Berkeley so I know as of right now I'm taking a bit of a break from all of this... Come the 29th I'll spend most of my day here. :)

UCSD still pending for me :(
man, i really had my hopes up for yesterday...awwwww.

on the bright side,
only 2 weeks till berkeley!!!!!!!!!

mine is pending too. that sucks. i hope they hurry up and post the decisions. i am already sick of checking the UC sites 10million times a day

i was reading through the archives from last year and found out that ucsd made a waitlist of about 800 transfer students last year. they got waitlisted because negotiations between the uc and arnold weren't made by the admission notification deadline (which was may 1 last year). if you also look at last year's transfer admit rate in comparison to the years before, it dropped by about 8%, from 57% for fall 2003 to 49% for fall 2004.

so i'm wondering... is the admission rate going to go be cut this year again and is the budget going to effect those of us who are still pending for ucsd?

i vaguely remember reading an email or publication online prior to last fall quarter saying that admission was going to fall by about 10% for that year. has anyone seen anything remotely like that for the coming year?

nebody rejected from davis & irvine? can u post ur stats?
cuz i havent got nething, wonderin if im still bein evaluated or jus waiting till later to send out my rejection

im still waiting for davis also :(
which is my first choice

i got into sb, i, sc and m already
i have a 3.1 which isnt good at all

Yeah it seems like Davis hasn't mailed out their rejections yet.

Hey so what was your major with a 3.1? When did you hear?

I'm an econ major and i have a 3.7 gpa with all my igetc satisfied plus prereqs except the biggest ones i think, Calc 1 and 2. Im taking calc 1 this Spring, and calc 2 in summer. all my prereqs are A's, granted easier; micro, macro, and stats without calc prereq.

my extra curric are wrestling assistant at old high school, archery tourneys, dean's list, phi theta kappa, and i cited a personal research project on welfare related social policy that i am doing. hence, i think my essay is pretty strong.

I applied to irvine, berk, la, riverside, and sd. what would you guys say my chances are in light of the math shortsidedness? I'm first generation (East) Indian American, if that helps or hurts, and id be the first to get a U.S. degree.

i know with berkeley they are less stringent b/c they allow calc for bus. and social sciences to transfer, and a 3 on ap, whereas others, well dont. i guess if anyone has any info. please let me know, with special attention to berkeley. thanks.

i believe they came together. if you're still pending they havent made their decision yet. i doubt the colleges are going to wait and send all the rejections out at once...it just doesnt make sense, do they want to give us the less time for our appeal?

i check my app. status as many times as the date. today i checked 18 times.

paranoia/depressoin

Intel4WepofMassAdmissions:

i did all the lower division requirements for DAVIS, and the IGETC certification
the weird thing is that i got into the other UCs...
havent heard yet

I just got into the Miur college of UCSD, molecular bio major.

It looks like there are 750 places in Miur this year, and somewhere around 8000 applied.

It's encouraging because I DO NOT have IGTEC certified and I lack two O-chem classes.

WOOO HOOOOO i just got into thurgood marshall at UCSD.
2 down (UCI and UCSD - IN!)
2 to go (UCLA and Cal)

i haven't heard from SD...soul what are your stats and major?
