UC Transfer Applicants - Come Join

WOW, me too on wanting to go there for 2 years...UCLA is my dream school but I'm scared that my GPA might be too low...about 3.7

I am soo jealous of you guys who got in, but it motivates me. Anyway I've got a Philosophy test tomorrow so wish me luck. GAAH! Gotta get A's for UCLA!!!! Gotta shut my dad up. Gotta prove it to myself. Gotta be happy! Bye bye.

Collegebabe you go to West Valley right? which Philosophy class/teacher?

Philosophy 001, Upton (new teacher)

collegebabe, once upon a time I thought that getting into UCLA or UCB would make me happy. I guess proving to myself that I could get in gave me confidence, but happiness is something I had to find within myself. Good luck when you transfer! It's nice to see someone with such endless enthusiasm and love for everyone on this board.

collegebabe....i did complete almost all of the UCLA req's....i was only missing about 2-3 classes. But doesn't the UC's that you apply to require only 80% of the classes to be completed before transferring???

UCLA is more script.

mosharma, I was told that if you completed more major requirements than others who applied, you will have an advantage. There's no percentage, it's all relative.

hah, I'm in a good mood. I feel for people in here and we all need all the encouragement that we can get. Y'know, I thought about happiness and quite frankly you're right. Even if I do get into UCLA, it will get even harder. It will only be the beginning. There will be very good times and, often, very bad times. So yeah, happiness doesn't suddenly appear within a bulging acceptance letter from UCLA. HEY! I should put that phrase in my personal statement! Gah...(sigh)I'll never change...but that's cool.

I think a desire for happiness is what drives us to reach for the stars. Whether we find it or not, we will achieve great things during our journey. I feel like writing a personal statement right now. hehe :)

mosharma...it trully depends on the school. UCLA really wants you to complete ALL of the minimum requirements. UCI, for instance, not so much...:X

mosharma134, you were missing 2-3 thatz y they said no to you....

Tifania...I bet you feel like you can do ANYTHING right now!

indie_boy is right, sorry :~(

thanks for the information indie boy. I think that 2 classes does make a big deal in engineering admission. Oh well, there is still Friday to hear from Cal.

mrpinaple-why do you think they didn't accept you?

Yeah Mr. Pineapple Id like to know too, that just seems rediculous.

I feel bad for you, that just sucks.

Well, hahaha, im preety sure I'll be in the same boat with you shortly.

Im just hoping that maybe because I could enter the major directly and not have to be a "pre biz econ major" (I have already fulfilled the pre-bussiness econ major classes) i may still have a chance.

But in a postive light, you seem to have set yourself a good foundation. Im assuming as an Econ major you'll go beyond your BA/BS (depends on school classification) and comming from a UC (thats not LA) won't hurt you if you maintain your GPA.

today was so great. everyone is so excited for me. and i'm so excited for everyone here. what a great community... go bruins!!! yay ucla!!! i can't wait

p.s. does anyone have any info on their financial aid page. mine has nothing? eep not again

Damnit...All I got today from UCLA is this new message on their decision website:

We have received your application for Fall Quarter 2005 and are still in the process of reviewing it. There are still applicants for whom decisions have not yet been finalized. Please continue to check back.

...I keep reading it over and over trying to decipher some secret message that may be hidden in those three sentences.

Maybe it's saying: We have rejected your application for Fall Quarter 2005 and are still in the process of laughing at it. There are still applicants for whom rejections have not yet been finalized. Please continue to delude yourself.

Any others?
