When the UCs mention transfer credit, do they mean the credit earned at whatever college you are in or do they mean those credits converted to the UCs credits. So suppose I take a class that is 5 units in my CC but is only 4 units in UCB, when calculating how many credits I have to transfer, do I count the 4 or do I count the 5? I'm asking because I am trying to see my standing when I transfer (junior, senior) and some of the UCs do not admit senior standing students.

I think they mean credits at your CC which I’m guessing is in semester v. quarter @ UC’s. I am a little confused about the 2nd part of your post though. From my understanding, UC’s don’t care how many units you take at a CC but they will only transfer ‘x’ amount (for ex. they aren’t going to count someone with 200 semester units as having completed that equivalent at UC, they might do 100?). The cap is for other CSU or UC students trying to transfer to UC I think.

They are talking about semester credits. If you take more than the max number of credits at community college, they still give you course credit for the class if it’s a required GE class or something, but don’t count the actual credits toward the number of credits you need to graduate.
