I know U.K. says they don’t like US students applying to UK schools using both UCAS and CommonApp. Our issue is that we really want one more choice so we’re debating whether to add adding 1 more UK uni to CommonApp, (having already applied to 5 on UCAS).
Does anyone know if/how the university in question would ever find out we did this?
For a start, there is only one person’s name on the app, so there is no “we”. Based on your user name I’ll take a guess that “we” means you and your student. So, you are asking how likely you and your student are to get caught if you break the rules.
You know that you student is not supposed to do it. Are you really saying “well since I/ you really really want it, it’s ok as long as we don’t get caught” to your student?
Your student can change their UCAS choices within 14 days of receipt of the UCAS welcome letter. Life is full of hard choices, and limiting yourself to 5 UK universities is at the soft end of hard choices. Might as well start getting the hang of it now.
