I got into UCB (Bioengineering) and UCSD (Bioengineering: Pre-med).
Well, my financial package from UCSD is way better than UCB.
I know UCB is more prestigous, but I hear that UCSD is a good engineering school.
What should I do?

Plazadz,

If you look at the US News ranking, both UCB and UCSD bioengineering programs are ranked in the top ten, with UCSD program ranked a little bit higher, but they are both very good programs. The programs at UCSD provides more choices.

You should visit both departments at UCB and UCSD, look at their curriculums, sit in classes, talk to professors and students, and then make your own decision.

Good luck!

if you're for sure you're doing bioengineering, go to ucsd. it's the top bioengineering prog for all uc's (undergrad is #3 in the nation, behind john hopkins and duke)

if you're not sure you're doing bioengineering, go to berkeley. look around the forums, i think there's someone else in a similar situation as you and picked ucsd bioengineering over berkeley

and ucsd gave you more money! so that should help too

ucb is definetly better in that field. it is also more prestigous
if money is not a factor for you go to ucb, they have many good opportunities after you graduate

UCSD is the best

"ucb is definetly better in that field."

If you would have done your research, like the others that have posted, you would've known that bioeng. is ranked higher at UCSD than UCB. Where are you getting your info??

If you're going to be sure that you're going to do bioeng or anything else in the life sciences... definitely SD. If you think you may want to change to most anything else, then Cal.

Really, just visit both campuses and decide that way. It's so close between the two based on your major that academics can take a backseat to personal preference.

Just out of curiosity, why would the financial package at SD be so much better than B? What did SD offer that B didn't?
