UCF traditional in person classes

My D20 is accepted as NMSF with BHC. It is definitely our most financially smart option among the other colleges to which she has been accepted.

HOWEVER highly concerned that too many classes will be offered online only.

She is looking to be PoliSci/English/History and wants traditional seminar style classes. In fact if she could avoid any online classes she would prefer it.

Anyone have any information about this?

Do they not have honors classes that meet in person? There are many classes that are only offered online- business is a major in which all their foundation courses only meet 5 times and there is no lecture, just modules and group work sessions. My D did not take many GEP- so macro economics was the only one she couldn’t take a physical class for. There is a way to search- make sure the class location is Main Campus and the mode of instruction is Face to Face. Fall schedule isn’t up, but you can look at current classes just make sure to uncheck show open classes only.

I’ll be honest- there is a reason FL public schools are cheap- too many students and lots of online classes. This happens at all of them. There isn’t even a lecture for these classes. The kids work through modules and take all their tests online- not sure what the professors are actually doing. Luckily my D can take all of her classes with a professor. She hates online and avoids it.

D will likely due to AP not have to take many general ed. (has 8 APs with 5s on the test plus likely another 4 from this year)

Where does one search for this? In the main course selections doesn’t seem to indicate campus or mode of instruction at all.

in the search bar type class search- it should bring up View schedule of classes. It would help if you had a list of classes she wants to take that you can look up.

I just did a quick search and many Political Science classes were regular lecture. If you need more help send me a PM. I think once you are truly in a major the online class is optional. Business classes were the ones that seem to have no choice.

Thank you! That totally worked and absolutely alleviated my concerns.
Looks like nearly everything she would be wanting in all three departments that are her focus are available as face-to-face with a lot of options.

This is a big concern for us as well. (DD is also a NMF accepted to UCF). Where do you find the class lists? She’s interested in anthropology and Arabic (with the idea that she would also do her pre med pre recs). I can’t seem to find the classes online and where the listing is for lecture vs online. She really doesn’t like the idea of online. Thanks so much
