What do you think that can I get in
I have one more query actually my counselor left my school so should I tell admission committee or not
@powerbang That depends.
If there’s stuff on his/her end that had to be sent, then probably. Otherwise it doesnt matter.
Ultimately its upto you, and how much weightage you think it might add to your application’s context.
Hope that helps!
Regarding ‘what’… i think you meant ‘when’? Uchicago said Mid-March for RD decisions (someone correct me if im wrong) so expect decisions by then!
@CU123 James Nondorf probably announced that he also voted in the Republican Primary in 2016.
^ LOL.
@CU123 - hopefully he released trivial details like how many applied ED1 vs. EA, how many accepted in each group, how many of each deferred went to EDII, and gave a shout-out to the CC community who were there in spirit.
@TheGuy1 but if admission committee asked her about anything about me then what
I have no contact with her and she left in an angry state
@TheGuy1 what do you think seeing my stats that will I get in or not I have one exceptional talent too that is rarely seen
@powerbang Regarding the counselor situation: they can contact her, but if you were on good terms with her, you should be fine (logically speaking). Otherwise theres not much you can do, so dont think about it too much.
Well to be bleak, your SAT score seems way too on the lower end, if not off the end of the spectrum. Maybe your GPA (or equivalent academic rating) and SAT 2 scores will help you out, as well as your Teacher Recs (especially in the case of a low SAT1). But the things you’ve done are pretty awesome! Would you like to highlight which ‘national olympiads’ are these (like name wise).
Maybe the ‘holistic review’ will help you out in getting in (again, high stress on maybe). But my decision is invalid since its the AdCome contemplating your addition into the class of '23.
If you are an international, especially of Indian Citizenship, then it certainly plays against you, as Non-US Citizens/Permanent residents are in extreme competition with each other to fill in the <12% international student quota many top colleges have (again, especially when stereotypically smart races/regions are overrepresented in the applicant pool).
Good luck to you!
PS: If you want to talk further, you can via PM or something!
@powerbang ‘A talent that is rarely seen’ certainly plays for you in the Application Process, but that is for the AdCom to decide (if they need it in their incoming class or not, and the credibility of its ‘rareness’). If youd like to highlight what it is, certainly hit me up in the PM’s!
@TheGuy1 as my new counselor arrived then should o tell them or not because if they do not get reply f4om counselor there will be a negative impact right
@powerbang - you posted these GC concerns on the Duke thread as well, correct? You got great responses then so not sure what the continued concerns are. Unless your counselor hasn’t sent your midyears you really don’t need to worry about the fact that he/she left the school. If you want, stop by the new counselor’s office, introduce yourself and share that you have a concern about the transition and don’t want to slip through the cracks in the unlikely event that your colleges need additional information about your application. You will probably not be the only senior at that school to be doing so.
You can also update your UChicago admissions rep. with an FYI and new name/contact information - but check with your counselor first because they might be taking care of that already.
Good luck to you!
I agree with @JBStillFlying for actions to take if youre so concerned. If you’d like, you can inform your new GC, as that always a helpful thing to do.
It’s official, y’all. UChicago Admissions announced it on their Twitter account. EDII will be released on the 15th, late afternoon Central Time.
God help all of us.
MODERATOR’S NOTE:
I have banned @YaleMIT2023 as a spammer. Therefore all responses to her have been deleted.
Has anybody applying ed2 got a notification basically saying their application materials have been processed and that they are finalizing decisions?
i have indeed!
My son got a notice in mid-Jan that his application was complete and that a specific date for the decision would be released later on.
In your applicant portal? That’s where mine is. @wackrapconcarne
@yeet123 - yep. Son’s says the same. He hadn’t checked in for awhile. That section of the page will likely be replace with a link to the decision letter (or a tab - can’t remember which) on Friday afternoon.
