UChicago Double major of Physics of Intermolecular Engineering (Quantum track)?

Hi!

I wish to do a double major in Physics and Intermolecular Engineering (Quantum Track) at UChicago. Can someone please give me insight into the various career opportunities or tracks one can pursue with this? I am mostly interested in pursuing a career in Astrophysics or Particle Physics as of now, however, it might change and hence I am doing the double major.

As for Chicago’s molecular engineering program in particular, here’s what they say on their site:

While the program will prepare undergraduates for a wide variety of careers in technology-focused industries, it also will position them for further post-graduate study in fields such as science, engineering, medicine, business or law. The aim is to introduce invention and design, along with inquiry and discovery, as fruitful and complementary intellectual activities.

It’s a fairly new program. So, it wouldn’t have much of a track record yet for alumni outcomes.
