UChicago, JHU, or Cornell for bio

Hi!

I was recently admitted to the above universities, and I am interested in studying biological sciences and then going to grad school, possibly studying computational biology or another specialized field. How does Uchicago compare to the other two in terms of undergrad bio research opportunities and grad school admissions?

Thank you so much in advance!

Almost equal. Hopkins probably leads the pack, with Chicago/Cornell slightly weaker. All three are pretty close for grad school admissions, maybe with Chicago leading slightly.

For these three, it’s more of a question of fit than comparative strengths. Visit, or talk with some students, and then decide.

JHU for sure. Nothing beats JHU when it comes to things realted to medicine, except maybe University of California in San Francisco.

But, if you there is a chance that you may decide to shift our of Bio into something else later on, UChicago would be a better fit.

Dont think just for “now”, think ahead. way ahead.
