I am an international student from Hong Kong and I've been accepted by both UChicago and LSE (London School of Economics and Political Science). I'm having trouble deciding between these two schools so please help me out! I'm planning on majoring in Economics at Chicago and I've been accepted to read Law at LSE. As an international student, money is also a consideration as studying in the UK will be much less expensive that at the US. But of course that's not the most important reason, other factors such as academic quality, job prospects etc... are also important. so please help me out!

You cannot go wrong. Both are amazing universities and top Economics programs in the World. Chicago is a more complete university, equally strong in Economics and Political Science as it is in Chemitry and Physics. Chicago is also know for forcing you to have a well rounded education. I believe Chicago requires its students to take 21 (out of 42 required for graduation) "core" classes outside of your major. LSE would be far more specialized and focused on your major. Both are located in great cities, but clearly, London is far more cosmopolitan than Chicago. You are faced with a tough decision, but the two schools are suficiently different for you to identify one that is a better fit for you.

I had a similar choice to make back in the early 90s...whether to chose an American or British University. In fact, I had an acceptance to Chicago and an offer from LSE. Given the choice, I would have picked Chicago because it suits my personality better.
