I’m sure they’re not.

I’m a third year at the UofC. We have about 15 third years in total in my fraternity, here’s where some of them will be interning this year: Morgan stanley, JP Morgan, Deutsche Bank, Google, Credit suisse, etc,.

This notion that UChicago doesn’t have excellent career placement is outdated. If you want to go into finance, you WILL get into finance; if you want to go into consulting, you WILL get into consulting. Members of peer schools love to use the “poor career placement from the UofC” line when convincing prospective students to choose against us. As a current student, I’m here to tell CC that there is no longer a disparity between Chicago and our peer colleges in how well we place students in great jobs. I really don’t care where you end up going to college, I’ve had a fabulous time here and I’ve landed one of the most coveted internships among college students. BUT PLEASE TAKE THE OPINIONS OF CC MEMBERS WITH A GRAIN OF SALT

in same situation as you (OP), and I’m choosing Northwestern
Honestly academics and career placement are so similar that what you have to do is take overall vibe into consideration, and for me NU just seems more balanced in terms of academics, social life, athletics, campus location, etc.

haha i guess im not the only one!

bummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmp

I would echo the comment by the current fraternity member at Chicago. If you want any type of selective, professional role straight out of college, both schools will serve you equally well. While they dont have the same type of placement as the marquee UG programs (e.g., Wharton, MIT, Harvard), they are the next best thing. A big reasons stems from the presence of Kellogg and Booth, which have material trickle down effects in terms of drawing firms attention. Bear in mind that a quarter of all Chicago alumni are MBA recipients after all.
