mine is social behavior and 3.4 but i didnt have any extra curriculum activities just full time job so im scared I dont get in since i only applied to uci and ucsb and i still have to take 2 IGETC classes during the summer :l</p>
<p>Do they require you to have the IGETC complete for Science/Engineering majors? If so, I’m kinda f’d - I have most of it complete (foreign language, you suck).</p>
<p>@Hecktor - what are the 2 IGETC classes you need to take? I’m not positive, but think it might depend on what they are. I was told that I wasn’t able to retake Stats over the summer if I didn’t pass it this semester and still be accepted, and that is my only IGETC class I have left.</p>
<p>I’m also a PSB major but I only have a 3.3, no TAG, am an active member of The Psych honor society, will finish IGETC this semester (stats honors) and have all prereqs finished.</p>

<p>Hi! I’ve been reading this forum, but haven’t posted to it yet… So I’m new. I decided to post b/c I’m freaking out a lot about not having heard from UCI yet. </p>
<p>Major: Biomedical Engineering
GPA: 3.5
Extra Curricular: Math tutor in the math lab at my CC for almost a year and a half, volunteering at a hospital for about a year, and a different hospital before that for about 2 years.
Essays: strong (good writer, wrote them in July wayyyy before most people started apps)</p>

are there other Engineering majors in a similar situation as me? My boyfriend is the same major as me, lower GPA, no extra currics, average essays and he got in before me like three weeks ago. A lot of my other friends also Engineering majors have gotten in as well, most of them with lower GPAs and no ex.currics!</p>

<p>I’m not engineering, but I’ve noticed a lot of kids have already gotten into my major (poli-sci) with lower GPAs than I have. I heard that the order is random, so I’m trying not to freak out yet.</p>
<p>For those freaking out:</p>
<p>Had my best friend who goes to UCI do me a favor today and go into the admissions office to ask about transfer apps. The lady who she spoke to reassured her that those of us who had not heard yet definitely shouldn’t panic. They have a lot of apps left to go, and they are primarily looking at prereqs. As long as your GPA is somewhat along with the average for your major, and you have the required prereqs done, or better yet TAG’d, then do not stress. It’s nice if you have all of the recommended stuff, but it’s not essential. Took a huge load off of my mind to hear it straight from someone who actually reads the apps and makes the decisions. Hope it helps some of you guys too.</p>
<p>Edit: Also, I’m transferring from Cal Poly SLO, and the admissions lady didn’t seem at all worried about that. If she wasn’t worried for my sake, I’m sure all of you CCers will have smooth sailing.</p>
