***UCI APPLICANTS C/O 2023***

Has anyone received financial aid? A classmate told me she did (also hasn’t been accepted yet) but I’m skeptical. Thanks!

Yes, my youngest has received his financial aid award, too, but no acceptance. I’m not sure it really means anything.

@Ca2017senior can I ask when he received his aid award? I was accepted early but haven’t heard anything and I know for sure I qualify for aid haha Thanks!

@eggstremelyeggy UCI sent an email stating it had been processed. To view it, you log into your portal and click on the section at the bottom that says “What’s next.” and choose “my aid.” It will send you to financial aid and you’ll log in again with your password to view your aid status.

My guess is FA office sent notifications about need based aid around mid February to whoever had Fafsa already submitted earlier. It might just be matter of time for the people who submitted their Fafsa around early February and March deadline.

Hmm, I did receive an email early Feb. saying that there was an update to my financial aid but it didn’t state an amount. My financial aid portal reads:

"Your initial application is complete and all documents were submitted on time.

Based upon the receipt dates as shown below, you may be considered for “priority funding” (this includes grants, loans and work-study). Please note, that we may be asking for additional information from you to complete the evaluation of your file. You will remain eligible for priority funding providing all future documents requested are received on or before the due date."

I guess I was hoping to see a set number. I submitted my FAFSA 11/24 so maybe it will be soon? I hope so, I’m getting worried haha

Is the portal for UCI not working, or is it just me?

@alexramirez2027 works for me - no changes to portal for us.

@eggstremelyeggy we were just at the CHP presentation today and the financial aid peeps said that the packages would be sent out mid-April!

@notw245 @Mo11ymac Same! Im hella nervous right now, what are your stats?

did UCI ever send out Regents?

Does anyone know if data science is an impacted major at UCI?

Hey incoming Freshman- Don’t worry yet. Only the students invited into the campus wide honors program were notified of acceptances so far. That’s only going to be about 320 students out of the entire incoming class. The regular decisions will be posted or notified this month.

RE: Business Administration, at the CHP breakout for Merage students, they said that they had 12,000 applicants for the program, for 275 spots. That includes incoming freshmen and transfers. I had no idea that it was so selective!

It seems like a very good program. My daughter had not considered UCI at the top of her list, but following the CHP and Merage presentations today, she is very impressed with UCI now.

@GonnaBEmptyNest wow! i thougt my D would be admitted for sure but not now! thx for softening the blow!

Business Admin
SAT 1320
UC GPA 4.18
oustanding ECs
great essays

@StacysMom24 Those are great stats! Best of luck to your daughter!

My daughter’s stats:
SAT 1550
UC GPA 4.56
sorta mediocre ECs

I overheard some students talking at the CHP main session and they said that they had heard that UCI puts a lot of emphasis on GPA, but I don’t know if that’s really true.

@GonnaBEmptyNest well if ur D doesnt get in we are all in trouble!!! cant get much higher than that! i hope she applied to stanford!

@Haysmom thank you!!

Also, would just like to note that my UCD financial aid came out with the decisions today

Hi everyone, I was accepted early on 2/15 but I miscalculated my GPA in my post (forgot to add extra weight to community courses & mightve added an non A-G course) . Since I can’t edit or delete my comment I just wanted to provide everyone more accurate stats, sorry for misleading in my initial post (#72)
