Does anyone know when UCI decisions are coming?
3/19
@StacysMom24 How do you know this?
look around on portal. they state it.
fake news. sorry. UCSB states 3/19
All that UCI has officially stated is “March 1-31” but most people, from what I have read, are speculating admission on the 22nd. I’m waiting nervously as well
Last year my son got his decision on March 23, 2018 on a Friday after 3 pm west coast time. I am speculating it could be on March 22, 2019 on Friday at 3pm. My daughter made it into UC Davis on Friday, Just waiting for UCSB on the 19th at 3pm and UC Irvine. UCSB and Irvine are closer to us.
I think it would come out on March 15 at 3 pm. In past years they started to release decisions on the third Friday of March, so if they are consistent that would make sense. If somebody knows someone who works in admissions or has called and found out when they plan to roll out decisions please post here.
I tried messaging admissions on the UC Irvine application portal but I think the person who responded was someone working in the office who had nothing to do with decisions and handles other things because not every person working in the office has the responsibility of reviewing applications and agreeing on a decision. I really need to get in touch with someone who actually plays a role in reviewing applications and coming to a decision.
I emailed the admissions office using the email for admissions posted on their website, with instructions to forward it to someone involved within the process of reviewing applications and agreeing on a decision. If they do forward the email to the right person, we may get an accurate answer, but if they refuse to do this or just ignore it, we will get the same answer that is on the portal. I have been lucky with LMU, which is the first school I heard from, and someone actually told me when the decisions were coming out, and I was able to answer that question on the spot, while other schools have given me a specific time frame, and others didn’t even call upon someone that could provide an accurate answer.
@skcyking72 Remember last year decisions were not released until Friday March 23 at 3pm. My other son who was accepted in 2013 got his decision after March 24th. I think UCLA is releasing this Friday on March 15th. I spoke with my daughters friend last night who also got accepted to UC Davis on Friday along with my daughter and she says she is waiting on UCLA decisions on Friday, UCSB on Tuesday the 19th and Irvine on the 22nd of March. So decisions are on the way soon!
Should we just assume decisions will be out on the 22nd and not the 15th?
Neither. UCI decisions have come out on Tuesdays in the past, so I personally wouldn’t count on it coming out on a Friday.
Historically it has come out on the 16th, but that is Saturday this year, so maybe the 15th.
In 2017 they did release on a Thursday after 7pm, but since it was rolling all week, many had to wait a week for any decision. So its coming. Either way you will know before months end,
does anyone know when the decisions start rolling out? I’m assuming it’s the beginning of next week, with a wave of acceptances coming first, and then rejections and waitlists.
FYI…just called UCI regarding when Regent’s Scholarship would be announced (my D was accepted to CHP in Feb). The person who answered (I believe a student) didn’t know the answer, but told me he would find out from the Director (who was at lunch) and call me back. Impressively, he called me back about 1 hour later and told me that Regent’s won’t be announced until sometime in April, AFTER all undergraduate admissions have been announced. And yes, they realize it is later than normal. He told me to look at my UCI portal for the official award (if my D is to get one). Not sure if this is just the “canned” answer, or not but that is what UCI officially just told me. Hope this helps all the anxious people awaiting Regent’s notification!
In 2017 they rolled out on March 16 which was a Thursday, and in 2016 they also rolled out on March 16 which was a Wednesday. Last year was Friday, March 23 which puts them a week behind when they began to roll out decisions historically. However, the 16th is a Saturday this year which is why I think they will roll it out on the 15th going by when they have released it consistently not including 2018.

How have these people been accepted already? Was it because they got accepted into the honors program?
@skcyking72 People who were invited to the Campuswide Honors Program were accepted in mid February.
