Do you have any test scores?

Oops sorry forgot to add lemme edit;
can’t edit main post but

SAT: 2220
ACT: 30

what can I do to have a higher chance of getting accepted?

well you can’t do anything now. you’ve already submitted your app, right?

Nope still a Junior and I was seeing if I could get in with my current grades and the grades I will strive for.

Umm…if that really is a D in Apush…you probably need a really good explanation for it. I’ve seen many SENIORS get Ds only to be rescinded by the high Tier and Mid tier UC they were accpeted to. They also did have stellar grades in the past along with decent test scores.

a D in your transcript, specially in your junior year, is a red flag to all the UC’s, because they really care about GPA, along with the C in Chemistry and English. Those grades are just going to murder your GPA. You have to get all A’s in this semester to even be considered. Your SAT is more than qualified for UCI. Most students who apply to UC’s have decent GPAs. You should probably look more into privates, since they don’t care as much about GPA as the UCs do. Also, get some more extracurriculars.
