3.47 Computer Science, UC TO UC, haven’t heard anything from any of the schools YET. I heard for impacted majors like CS it takes longer to determine, we will probably hear it around 20th. GOOD LUCK!!!

mrfan, what UC are you coming from and why are you leaving?

Financial Aid Awards are now available!

^ finally!

@mandapanda1, sounds like a good plan; why take loans if you don’t need them? and it looks like our fin aid offers are exactly the same sans the pell grant since i don’t know about yours.

I am soo grateful to UCI for their blue&gold; I was super worried I might not be able to afford tuition, but as long as that’s paid for I can meet the rest of the costs on my own. (:

@fkhanO same here. that was a huge factor in attending a UC. Grateful for the Blue & Gold

for those of you who can view our financial aid award, when did you guys get accepted?

Im still unable to see mine. It doesn’t even say it will be available within 10 days

@fkhn0, I was offered $5645 Pell Grants, $300 FSEOG, and $14439 UC Irvine Grant. I also expect UCI to eventually update a Cal Grant award as well.

@evelynnnlaw, I was accepted last week (I think it was Wednesday). I received an email today about my financial aid award being available.

@ evelynnnlaw

I was accepted last week, and just got Financial Aid information today.

oh okay I got accepted last wednesday too. maybe its because I’m a Dream Act applicant

glad for you guys though! hope you guys all got what you need :)

So wait does basically everyone get a UC Irvine Grant?

I was also accepted last Wednesday. I’m still riding the acceptance high. :D

@mandapanda, are the cal grants yet to come? What makes you qualify for those?

@socal79, I’m happy for you!

Guys, I wouldn’t be worried that if you haven’t heard back from UCI yet you’re automatically rejected. That’s DEFINITELY not the case. They’ve had 2 batches so far, the first one was for honors applicants who specifically applied to the honors program, and the second batch included myself, which was for people who TAGed to UCI. My friend got in last year VERY late, I believe around the 29th of April. You guys just have to wait a little longer, but I know you guys are in!! :)

@BioToUcla that made me feel better reading that. I was starting to worry about not getting any notification since I also did TAG for Irvine. I’m sure the admissions office is swamped with whatever they have to do. It’s only mid-April so I guess we still have more time before May. Just hope it isn’t too late though.

@fkhan0, I believe that CalGrants are still to come. I say this because according to my WebGrants account, I have not yet been given an award for the 2013-2014 school year. I have been receiving a CalGrant for the past two years at my community college, in the amount of approximately $1500. For 4-year universities, it is slightly more.

For more information, just look up CalGrants or WebGrants. Note that CalGrants are only available for California residents who are attending qualifying California colleges.

@anadela, I think tomorrow might be a good day, so lookout! Or Friday, it seems like decisions for UCI come out on weds/fri so far. Good luck!

@BioToUcla Thank you for your reassuring post! It’s been so easy to lose hope the closer it gets to the end of April.

your UCI grant is total of cal grant + school grant

Ive asked them

@evelynnnlaw, Thank you for the clarification. I will have to look into this as well. Just out of curiousity, did you get this information from the financial aid office?

@mandapanda1

yes I called them because Im not a US resident but have been a CA resident and I asked them whether I can get grants with the DREAM ACT and I asked them whether ill get CAL GRANT or UCI GRANT and they said that the cal grant is the same/included in the UCI grant
