April 18th is the date transfer admission gets released for Irvine. Regents get it randomly.

I am too confused about the regents selection process, and I remember I have seen threads that said you have to be a member of your cc’s honors program in order to be a regents for uci, but don’t quote me on that because I can’t find the source

Any I say there are whole lot of 4.0s that don’t get regents and there are some 3.8~that get regents. And sure, each school has there own policy regarding how regents are selected
I am just hoping that decisions will come out this week so that it will be less stressful. …

Which non-major courses will be have to take ! Do we have to take an upper division English course?

Just a question… Where did the April 18 date come from besides Ms. Sun? If that’s the case, why is UCI stating in their twitter that admissions are released on a rolling basis and anyone can be admitted at anytime? Just curious.

It’s not from Ms. Sun, it’s from the March 2014 edition of the UC Counselors and Advisers Bulletin.

yes as posted above
my ccc transfer center emailed me that list of dates

If 18th is in deed the 1st day admission release for non regents, then does it mean that more regents will be coming out this week?

Regent scholars are selected based on a holistic review of the applicant. They take into account the difficulty of classes/gpa/extracurriculars/ personal hardships. This is what someone from the UCI scholarship office told me over the phone. Regents will continue to be notified until the end of April.

@conheo Thanks for the info!

Haha, @vmladie03 that was an answer to my question on the UCI twitter feed. I wondered too, as I keep hearing April 18, so wanted to get some clarity. Rolling means rolling in my mind, so that creates a discrepancy, but maybe it’s some flunky doing the posts and they told him or her just to say rolling.

Since Regents is merit-based, I’m not quite sure why hardships or socioeconomic status should play into it. (I’ve heard directly that socio-economic staus is also a factor). Again, it is what it is.

I’m not convinced that the decisions are actually rolling. Considering how many people visit this forum, you would think there would be AT LEAST ONE person by now who’s gotten an admission. So far, we have nothing at all, besides the Regents people.

Thanks! Guess I would expect them to give out the same date on twitter. Oh well, 9 more days!

Heard back from UCI yesterday morning, accepted with regents’ scholarship!

Congrats @mishkaa!

Whats ur stats @mishkaa

Mishkaa were you notified by mail or did you see that on the portal?

Any non-regents heard back yet?

@vmladie03 wait 9 more days? do all the decisions come out on the 18th or something?
