For those of you who dont believe that decisions will be released friday because the Office of Admissions is closed that day, I can assure you that all of these admission decision websites are computer activated and do not require the office to be open for the site to function. My son is still anxiously awaiting his decision from UCLA and so I called my friend at the Admissions Office today and she told me that decisions will most likely be up on Friday the 30th at 5PM PST. For all of you who are in denial at this disappointing delay, I suggest that you take your mind off of college for a night and get some sleep for once...

cbf88: That's exactly it. When I took a tour of UCB awhile back, an adcom stated that flat out--no answering phones on Friday. They know our tricks, lol. ;)

i dont see why they would finish tomorrow and then schedule for their website to release them 24 hours later just for kicks. bah whatever, i suppose you have a much more reliable source compared to my personal opinion

Personally I think rejections should come out first as they're decided...I think it's pretty easy to figure out who isn't gonna make the cut. And I think people would benefit from this method more... you know... worry less etc.

I guess I'll say this once again because everyone refuses to believe me...and for the record, I worked as an Admissions Officer at UC San Diego for ten years before I started working as a secretary at Stanford...so keep in mind that I have some pretty solid connections...

Hey Matt, I believe you but I just want to know what you think the rationale is behind waiting to release the decisions even when they're all decided?

okay but what would be the point of releasing it on friday?

if they can release it friday without them being there (meaning there isnt anything else to do concerning admissions but releasing them)- why cant they just release it on thursday instead?

Personally I never understood Berkeley and La's rationale behind waiting so long to release decisions once they were already decided so far in advance. At San Diego we usually just released admission decisions as soon as they were all completed and we really did not have a set date to do so (I believe San Diego is still the same way now?) Anyway, I wish the best of luck to all that applied and I urge you not to stress out so much over this whole ordeal. Many of you will be rather surprised with where you have been admitted to whether it be La or Berkeley on the 29th and 30th, or the other private schools that you also applied to. You've done all that you can class of 2011, now just sick back and hope for the best!

alright alright time to come clean... I made everything up and I never did call the admission's office. I hope decisions are posted today for La!!!
