I’m a guy btw ;)

also, I dont know if you remember that everything came in batches like 1st wave until
5th wave. did the people who saw the finaid on ursa 1 week before the decisions came out get admitted on the first wave? or was it all random?

i think ucla realized that they made a leak with financial aid through this forum and stopped posting them until after decisions.

I’m pretty sure they got them in the first wave.

I’m gonna watch a movie, any more questions I’ll get to them later tonight.

seriously pmint…I bet the UCLA admissions people lurk here all the time and laugh at how we’ve all progressively gone crazier.

lol i agree

oh peppamintt i hope your right. I don’t see anything and I feel helpless and hopeless. I hope more updates are on the way.

Isgpep can you see your finaid on ursa?

no:( I’m worried.

To Cheeser:
“I haven’t seen anyone who has seen their finaiad and later on get rejected, have you?”

I’m going to assume that when you saying being to see their financial aid you mean without the specified rewards (I.E. Three column, with financial summary showing only the estimated cost for the college). If you make a bit of an effort, you will be able to find a condense thread of the freshmen who applied for the Fall 09 as well. I believe 100% of those who were able to see only the three column in URSA were rejected. So I guess the only thing left for us to do is wait till Wed. or even later, for an update on either URSA, MYUCLA, or doubtfully the official decision letter.

flower, they actually deleted all the freshman threads. theres only 20 pages and it only goes to the date march 20 and decisions were out march 18. well yeah I understand that 3 columns means rejection, but my question is if anybody who saw their finaid on ursa before the actual decisions to be later rejected? To what I have heard and seen, the answer is no! so its good news. also for those who couldn’t see their finaid, it didn’t mean rejection as well. I just really hope that the theory is 100% valid, have you seen your finaid by the way flower?

Hmm. I think I might be a bit confused from your response. Initially, I presumed, when having read the freshmen rejection thread, that those who saw three columns and were later rejected were in the same situation as we are in now (I can see my finan. aid). My presumption is based on the fact that none of those freshmen would have need to refer to the URSA if they had received the official decision letter. This essentially means that they had access to URSA (three columns) before the decision date. Could you correct my logic (I would love to be wrong in this case), and/or clarify if I am completely misunderstanding the two situations?

P.S. I hope you are right…

i don’t see anything either… its either accept or reject, so im just hoping for the best now… im tired of this wait =/

atleast u guys have backups, i was rejected from ucsb, havent heard from uci and have no hopes for ucb. so ya… atleast u guys have backups =P be HAPPY!!

I work with both Berkeley and UCLA as an Outreach Volunteer, primarily for in-state freshman admissions (I receive basic training on admission requirements and attend college fairs to promote the schools). I also volunteer to score Alumni Scholarship applications and interview the applicants (for the Los Angeles area) for both campuses. I received my BA from Berkeley and made a brief attempt (one year) at UCLA in a graduate program (PhD).

I offer free academic advising and college/scholarship application review to California high school and transfer students I meet at college fairs, thru Yahoo! Answers and LiveJournal who are planning to apply to highly selective California public universities.

So explain to me how

Wow.

ha… ha… HA!

supa ramga let me respond the question then:

why must it be “updated 1 or two days before real decisions come out?”

because people have said that it does. I am just going by what they’re telling me. Cheba63 however, indicates that ursa decisions come out on the same day when official decisions come out. I hope I finally responded the question.

Why must it be “updated 1 or two days before real decisions come out?”

Obviously the number of days will vary and therefore none can say with certainty that URSA will be updated one or two days prior to the decisions. However, I presume, Cheeser was referring to the past threads in which URSA updates did come a day or two before real decisions. I am too lazy to find them myself just for the sake of this response, but I encourage you to do this (use the search option).

I go to Puzzles every Thursday and eat chilli cheese fries or nachos. That food is fattening and amazing and I’m amazed my UCLA friend hasn’t gained the freshman fifteen.
