UCLA Appeals **Class of 2022**

@galonso01 You are right, don’t get your hopes up to high but be hopeful. In the meantime try not to think about it and before you know it you will get the email we are all waiting for. My daughter went through this in 2015 so I understand how you feel. This is my 2nd time around but I try to remain hopeful and keep BUSY!!!

Ah i see! Was a change of major mentioned within the appeal at all? Because i mentioned wanting to double major in art and psychobiology. What would happen then? @mvskoke

Good luck to all of you!!

@turkeypanini Yes we did mention if the appeals was accepted, that he be admitted to College of Letters and Sciences. We also found out he can re-apply to Arts and Architecture as a art major after 2-years.

I am praying for us all! My prayer is we all have good news to share with each other tomorrow.

Appealed April 13th and denied again may 11 at around 10:30 am.

Oof. Just for future ppl in my situation, I appealed on the basis of family circumstances(separation, financial issues, first gen) that I didn’t talk about in my application (all my essays were strictly about school/extracurriculars Bc I was dumb). Anyway my stats are: 33 ACT, 1400 SAT, and a 4.5 GPA.

One of the things I think I know was denied for was that I applied to a v obscure major in the physical sciences department and I kept with it in my appeal. I wish that I chose a different major and/or mentioned appealing to the college of letters arts and science.

The UC system has been vvv odd and competitive. (I know ppl who didn’t get into any UC at all besides Berkeley) my valedictorian didnt even get into UCLA so all I can really say is that don’t be discouraged by UC rejections. You’re all going to do amazing things no matter where you end up.
I realized that I wanted to do engineering anyway so catch me at UCSD on a near full ride  !!

Good luck to the rest of you all. You’re all going to do amazing things in life :)

Just got rejected. Can’t say I’m too surprised but I definitely had my hopes up. Good luck everyone

I still havent heard back. were they supposed to be out by 4 today?

Hey that might be good news. No no deadline

Did they send you an email that said your portal was updated? @galonso01

No I just logged in

Has anyone gotten admitted yet? Mine still says it’s pending

@turkeypanini I just checked, and mine still says pending as well

My son appeal is still pending as of 4:29pm today. All I can say this is unusual.

I notice we have 3 members, including my son who decision is still pending. This is weird because if we were going to be denied why keep us all in suspense.

At this point I am frustrated but trying to be hopeful.

is anyone gonna call ucla to get an update on when we will be updated on the status of our appeal?

@depressionnap For L&S major choice has no bearing on admissions.

@fishluver00 I spoke to someone on Friday and was told there was no appeals were accepted. I explained to this person my son still had no update on his status. The person said the updates will be done shortly. This was true because we saw students posts their denial. HOWEVER… what is a mystery is that there are a couple of us who have no updates on the appeal status. If decisions were made as of Friday 5/11/18, then why is it 5/14/2018 and our status have no update??? If the decision was made, why the unnecessary delay???

I am trying to hold out some hope but it is difficult because this waiting is nerve wrecking.

As of 2:27pm (Pacific time) my son still has no update. How about you?

@mvskoke my status is still pending. This is so frustrating.

I called today and I’m not sure if this goes for every waiting applicant or just my own personal appeal, but he told me that mine is STILL under review and that they’d have the decissions out at the end of this month at the latest. So it sucks but we have quite a bit of waiting left to do… although if theyre taking this long it might be good news??

@turkeypanini @fishluver00 I do think this maybe a good sign. My husband and I discussed it yesterday and Transfer Bruin Day was yesterday. The only solution we can come up with is they are waiting to the final acceptances from Transfer students. There is no reason to wait until the end of month if decisions were already made.

I was told Friday when the first wave of denials went out, it was for the absolute no’s. I am assuming the second wave of decisions was to narrow down the possible appeals they may offer admission, pending responses from Transfer students.

I will keep you both updated as I get any info. It looks like we are the last 3 remaining.
