UCLA Class of 2015 Official Results Thread!

@theleakers Unfortunately, I’m supposed to be writing an essay for ap english and another for ap comparative gov tonight. so far, nothing has been done.
why is it 5? whether rejected of accepted, i would focus more at school tomorrow if i knew.

wait…ucla decisions come out tomorrow (3/11/11)?! can anyone confirm this please?
I thought it was like march 20ish… :/

that is why they come out after 5 PM, so that you can concentrate on your schoolwork before that time …

let us know what you are going to write for your AP english, I am sure all of us will want to help you out …

I’m just wondering…when I refresh the “Admission Decisions” portal, it says “Waiting for www.admissions.ucla.edu” and never shows “done.” I’m probably reading waaaayyy too much into this, right?

may be they are in the process of opening up the portal …

@Rebecca
I’m supposed to be writing an essay for AP English too, though like you, nothing has been done because of all of this anxiety! lol

Ugh these last couple of hours are going to be TORTURE!!! Well at least after going to sleep when we wake up we’ll only have to wait like 10 hours. Hmmm… maybe I’ll just sleep the day away lol

@rebecca

none of my homework or essay has been done either D:
high five!!

I am going to have my parents call in sick for me so that I can turn it in Monday …

@theleakers, @h4ileyst4r mine is a new historical analysis of gullivers travels. and yours? zero motivation to research.

okay, only 20 hours …

@rebecca
sounds “fun” lol
I have to do a close reading literary analysis on the poem the Allegory of Death and talk about how the use of literary devices convey the main point and develop the complex meanings

I am a current applicant from the Calabasas, CA area. I was a summer student at UCLA, and as such, still have an active BOL (Bruin On-Line) account. I managed to find this on the email portal of my account:

3/9/2011: Mail Server Maintenance on 3/11
CTS Campus Systems Group and Systems Engineering will be performing maintenance on Bruin OnLine’s email servers between 12:01am and 5:00am on the morning of Friday, March 11th.

Email users may experience intermittent connectivity to the mail servers during the maintenance period.

Any idea what this could mean?

h4ileyst4r

you are kidding right ??? this is something you write in college, not in high school !!!

I think that email confirms that decisions come out tomorrow!!!

aussie, they must be opening up the portal …

so is UCLA your guys #1 school?
For me UCLA is one of my top 3 choices…the order changes almost every time I think about it :)

tomato, what is the other 2 ???

LOL the irony, I’ll be interning at UCLA when the decision comes out :)

@the leaker
It’s not as hard as it sounds. Just have to talk about tone/mood, theme and the use of figurative language and other literary devices like allusion etc… and how that contributes to the overall meaning, both surface and deep
we already did poem explications earlier this week so we basically just have to turn that into an essay

random question:

I took a class (Mythology) at UCLA over the Summer, and didn’t do as well as I’d hoped (C+ because of that dang final exam). Other than that, I am a pretty strong candidate I think, 3.8 GPA UW, 4.17 W, 2190 SAT 33 ACT, 780 History, 730 Math II, with strong EC’s (Senior Class President and Summer Intern for Senator Boxer). I didn’t report the mythology course on my UC application. Do you think the admissions department at UCLA was able to see it anyways? I got into the Honors program at UC Irvine (top 180 out of 4,000 applicants), so either they didn’t know or didn’t care over at the UCI campus…
