@SoCalDad2 daylight savings doesn’t erase time zones unless you are in Nevada, or something…

Arizona and Hawaii

As a parent, I’m also much more nervous. Is UCLA that much more desirable than other UCs? My son has been casual about all the UC acceptances, but the last few nights he couldn’t sleep, waiting for UCLA’s decision.

His older sister is a junior at UCLA and we come to the campus and Westwood a lot in the last few years. He was sold on UCLA during his sister’s orientation three years ago. The school was giving the sales pitch to the parents and the younger siblings. He swallowed the whole thing, hook and sinker.

To prepare for the potential disappointment, he was looking at photos of UCSD and the beach of LaJolla last night. He planned to go to track practice and a school dance tonight, even if the news isn’t in his favor.

Good luck to all of you. It’s not that fun when you all have to wait this long, and you no longer have any control of the outcome.

@inversionaddict That’s what I thought…But I got into UCSD six days ago…I know that I live far away in the Southwest, but is this delay normal? Do I need to expect that from all the UC’s?

@bkybub

If it makes you feel any better, I got into UCSD over a week ago as well (received a phone call). I’m on the East coast, so I’m thinking that the letters are taking longer to get to us. Either way, I’m sure they’ll arrive eventually-- I could have sworn I’d read somewhere that we’d be getting something in the mail.

@outdoorfanatic UCLA is typically more desirable than every other UC except Berkeley in terms of academics.

Hopefully, their server can handle the load (86,000+ freshmen applicants. Highest in the nation). My D is a UCLA Regents scholarship invitee but until you see the “Congratulations”, you’ll never know. It’s her top UC (not Berkeley) so hopefully she will get in.

@bkybub
We’re from few miles away from UCSD and we haven’t receive it yet.

@inversionaddict Okay, that’s a relief. I hope we both get into UCLA as well!

@2018dad Right. UCLA and UCB are more even in the playing field concerning desirability. I wouldn’t say one is drastically above the other.

5 PM PST, then?

Anyone just sitting in class refreshing their portal?

**sitting in bed alternating between refreshing their portal and freaking out

@Gonzo1996 me!!!

Today around PM 5 …very exciting instance is now coming… UCLA…Accepted or not ?

@Gonzo1996 you are not alone

Did I say that it did?

5pm PDT!!!

@SoCalDad2 not sure what you meant by your comment then… I guess I read it wrong.

^^^ It is a trivial matter, but almost all of the very smart students who hope to get into UCLA don’t seem to know that we are on Daylight time now, not Standard time. It has nothing to do with time zones.

5pm PST is 6pm PDT.

damn i’m gonna be so depressed today lol…ugh oh well
