@alwayswonderines Congratulations!! As many of you probably know, I got waitlisted from UCSD… TWICE. (Kinda frightened for my chances of getting into LA and Berkeley now!)

@caseyjbauer UCSD is a great school! And yeah omg I can’t even begin to comprehend how the UCs look at SAT scores, or what they consider a good SAT score… :-/

I think they mostly look at grades, not test scores.

@SoCalDad2 This would make sense, both from the results here & from the Common Data sets.

@caseyjbauer lol yup things def have changed and the competition has become more difficult … But something could work in you favor is that you have not one but 2 siblings that go to Berkeley … They will definitely take this into consideration . But I’ve got to say u will need to have really good grades to accommodate for your okish test scores. Those are definitely good scores but they are also lower in comparison to the general score range of students. Anyways gl to u !! I hope I get in as well… Lol my test scores are good it’s just that my grades haven’t been as high as I would have liked for them to be this yr … Oh well :)

Hey guys what chance do you think I have of being accepted as an out of state undecided science major?

Georgia Governors Honors Program State Nominee (Spanish)

^^
UCLA gives more consideration on the UW GPA more than anything. Because of this you have a really good chance. Your SAT is on the low side though but you are OOS and UCLA likes your money.

Hello fellow UCSD survivors! I must admit that college admissions feels like the hunger games…

@2018dad Is a 3.82 UW GPA considered low for UCLA? I know my weighted UC GPA of 4.13 is definitely on the low end, but I’ve been hoping my ACT of 34 miigghhtt be able to kind of make up for it.

Thanks for your time! Sorry to burden you, but you seem to have a lot of knowledge about this stuff.

Anyone want to chance me as as an out of state psych major?

I also am not eligible & not applying for financial aid, I’ve heard they like out of state money.

Thank you for taking the time to respond, I’m super nervous, UCLA is my #1!

@Lilliana330 for sure By the way, I’m seeing your username all over the UCLA board!! Am I right in supposing UCLA is your top choice?

@Heytheremate Hey think of it this way- maybe the UCs are all in this together and to be accepted to one of the top UCs, you gotta be waitlisted/rejected at another top UC Maybe a little conspiracy-fiction novel esque but hey, it doesn’t hurt to be optimistic right ^_^

@daisy8080 @heytheremate Let’s be optimistic! :)

@agreatperhaps13 Yes let’s! POSITIVE VIBES FOR EVERYONE!!

p.s. I like your username- it’s like shrouded in mystery and expectation!

Thanks! It’s from John Green’s book Looking for Alaska. He’s one of my favorite authors.

@daisy8080 @agreatperhaps13 Haha, thanks for the optimism idea. That conspiracy theory is what I’ve been telling myself to keep positive. I’m pretty sure I could get rejected from the best universities ever and tell myself “… well… it must be that I was just too good for them. Yep, that’s the only reasonably explanation” because why choose to be sad when you can choose to be happy :D

Y’all r amusing
Does anyone know the likelihood of getting in if we didn’t get like the open house invitation /likely letter for engineering ? Idk I’ve mentioned this before but I’m seriously interested in ucla so idk I didn’t get the letter lol

Average admitted GPA is 3.88.

Reading through this thread just made me 1000 times more nervous than I was before, haha. UCLA is also my first choice! Good luck to all of you guys this Friday. I’ve been dreaming about this moment for years…

i’ve never felt more nervous/anxious/afraid over college decisions, but this is it! a few more days everyone, good luck!

It’s my first choice too! I really, really hope to continue a legacy of Bruins in my family. My uncle went there, and my aunt and dad got admitted but picked other schools. I’d be bummed if I got rejected.
