For the Alumni app, does anyone know if there’s a word limit for the description of activities/awards etc? Also a few people have been asking if it’s ok if the essays dont have breaks/spaces in between paragraphs when you go to certification.
Is UCLA definitely coming out on the 18th?
@voltthorn Nobody knows for sure about anything because we aren’t admissions, but from past years we can safely assume Mar. 17.
I know Notre dame doesn’t release on the 17th this year because of st. Patrick’s day. Would UCLA also not do it then because of the holiday?
Break legs everyone hope you all get accepted
My son is out of state and he did not receive the Regents or fast track e-mails (he did get the Alumni Scholarship invitation). He has a 36 ACT, 1550 SAT, 800 on Math II SAT subject test and others, 4.0 unweighted GPA, 10 AP classes (one score of 4 and the rest 5s), National Merit Finalist, lots and lots of math and science awards, 3 year varsity lacrosse player and captain, and many other extra curricular activities. Can’t figure out how they determine “the top 1.5%” of applicants. Can’t possibly be based upon just grades and scores given his stats.
I really hope decisions will come out on March 17th. That’s the day of my birthday, and it would be the BEST birthday present to know that I got in! Good luck to everyone!
Now the real questions is, how are we supposed to survive the month long wait?
@need2go2UCLA omg that would be amazing. best of luck!
@helpmeimdying I don’t know if I can… o.o
If you all Check last years thread people were reviewing decisions as early as the 14th and it was a large group so it could be earlier!
I’ve literally been dreaming about this for the past 3 days…some UCSD email post on reddit got me all worked up about admissions and reminded me about how decisions are coming soon :((
If UCLA releases decisions on the second to last Friday of March then wouldn’t it be March 24?
Yeah I think that’s the thing? Usually March has only 4 Fridays, so the 3rd Fri/2nd to last Fri were the same day. This year there’s 5 so we’re not sure which one they are actually going with.
Haven’t UCLA and Cal historically been the last UCs to admit? UCSC is 3/15 and UCSB is 3/21 so UCLA might be 3/24.
If the pattern continues from previous years (and in the order of UCs) it should come out the 17th
@lkg4answers UCLA came out before UCSB last year. If things hold true then assume decisions come out March 17th around 4pm. Decisions are accessed through the applicant portal. Emails come out later followed by admit packets. Make sure to follow the admitted student checklist as there will be important info. All admits have Bruin Day registration while those admitted to professional schools will have an additional registrations to fill out for admit days. Hotel rates will spike when admission decisions come out so if you are serious about attending it maybe smart to book a reservation now that you can cancel later.
Any international students on this thread?!
Me @mnms21
@10s4life I just discovered I got the alumni scholarship invite email. It was in my spam!!! Does the UCLA admissions committee ever see the alumni scholarship application? Do they know who turns them in? Or does just the alumni scholarship committee see them? If I don’t send the app in, will admissions know? Will NOT sending it in hurt my admissions chances?
No, not sending in the scholarship application won’t hurt your chances of getting in.
At worst, you’re missing out on an opportunity to apply for a scholarship, but it doesn’t affect your chances of being admitted to UCLA.
