How is everyone coping with the waiting? I’m trying to keep my mind off it with work but i feel like time is slowing down. Any tips to keep my mind off of it?

I’m not, but we’re in good company — as of 8:30 PM PDT the link Nardo posted above you has accumulated 62 clicks. People are feeling similarly.

I don’t know if there’s really anything you can do to keep your mind off of it but I will say that you shouldn’t wish the time away (not saying that you are but just something I’ve learned from my experience) and we’ll all have a responses in such a short time!

Having just gone through this same thing with my senior in HS, it was killing us to have to wait for all the responses. But what an exciting time and I already miss it! My older son who is wanting to transfer (currently at UCD) has applied as well and that’s why I’m following this thread! The waiting game is tough but it’s such exciting times no matter what the final decisions are! Good luck!

did any of you guys do TAP? Does anyone know if that actually helps the odds of acceptance or not.

I did TAP for Data Theory. It most definitely helps your chances of acceptance. Check out these links for individual community colleges:

UCLA Transfer Alliance Program (TAP).

From what I gather, it seems that TAP applicants enjoy an acceptance rate of anywhere from 70% to 98%, depending on your choice of major, of course.

I’m really confused, folks. Okay, so, I’m in a weird boat in that I was admitted and even SIR’d to UCLA last year. I got sent a few emails in December/January saying basically that my account was being shut down because I was no longer affiliated with UCLA (fair; makes sense). Except, my MyUCLA account seems active? When I go to “features”, it says I’m eligible to enroll in classes.

Granted, I haven’t checked my account since last year, so Idk if this is just a holdover from before. But, umm???

I mean, tbf, I kinda broke UCR’s applicant portal because I got in last year and the new one refused to acknowledge I was an applicant and not an admitted student anymore (I had to call them to fix it and actually get my decision, lol), so maybe it’s another glitch. Idk, that’s weird.

This wait feels more intense than for our S17, who applied to transfer for Fall 2019. He was 5 for 6, including getting into his dream school Cal. He was waitlisted by UCLA.

D19 has a slightly better GPA, but her intended major (Global Studies) is impacted at UCLA. She SOOO wants to go to UCLA - it’s her dream school - but is not really talking about it. She tagged UCSB, so I told her the “worst” that can happen to her is she gets into UCSB and not UCLA or Cal (which is a fine outcome, if that happens). But she has worked so hard in her CCC honors program, has a competitive GPA, and has applied for TAP at UCLA. She is such a sweet, kind person. Come on, Bruins!

Either decisions somehow get released this Friday or some transfers get the regents email this week which will confirm what day the next week. Lets see what happens, this is gunna be a long week.

A similar thing happened when I SIR’d for Cal Poly in 2019, but ultimately decided not to go. I applied again for Fall 2021, got in, and my portal is showing academic holds from 2019. I’m sure if you give them a call, they’ll have you make a new account to start fresh, or something like that.

yeah haha, I worked hard to keep that but school has always been pretty easy for me… unless its science, I suck at science haha

I dont think so, I just followed an IGETC, my counselors werent super helpful during the application process for me :frowning:

I find it weird how UCB and maybe UCSD are releasing the 23 and then maybe UCLA too. There is no mental break in between to process each decision to anyone who applied to all three lol.

Hi all just joined this thread and wanted to post my stats!! Good luck everyone!

Major: communications
Gpa: 3.87
Igetci finished spring 2021
Local:no
Tag:no
Work: yes 30+ hours
Essays: strong?
Applied: UCLA, CAL, cal poly slo, SDSU, Chico state
Accepted: SDSU, Chico state
Rejected: cal poly slo

literally me :joy:

I had the same stats. But rejected from sdsu…

Is anyone here a first- year transfer? I am so I’m just curious if anyone else is as well!

Also if ucla had an increase of 28% for freshman applications and they let out admissions decisions on the 3rd week despite that, then I believe the same should apply for this Friday (16th)! There was also an increase of transfer applicants by 10% so that kinda scares me to be honest

Also according to this discussion post, regents has already been sent out:

i think we figured out that it actually wasn’t a regents scholarship invitation that the person who posted that was talking about, it was an alumni scholarship invite which i think every applicant got

I am hoping for this Friday but how come no transfer has received regents yet. I know this community is a small portion of all the applicants so maybe that’s why but if they send out regents before decisions then I’m losing hope for this Friday lowkey.
