I believe the majority of the decision for Architectural Studies is dependent on the supplemental application and the portfolio submitted, as opposed to grades or ECs. I thought I did a pretty great job on my essays and really put in a lot of effort into creating the best portfolio I could. I understand the major is insanely selective with very few available spots, so I’m very glad to even be considered for waitlist. Since submitting my application in November, I have been able to take lead on a GIS-based project on an entire college district level as well as win an Architecture Scholarship from my area. I’m hoping to write about both of these occurrences in my waitlist essay and keeping my fingers crossed for a possible acceptance while I decide which accepted university to SIR to.

hey guys! apologies if this has already been answered- i just cant seem to find a definite answer online. I am really tempted to withdraw from this honors anthroplogy course I am enrolled in due to my utter frustration with the disorganization of the class, aribitrary rules from the prof, etc. it is not a pre req class or anything that matters towards my fulfullment of mandatory units. I have completed over 80+ units. i enrolled in the class to maintain my “full time student” title for car insurance purposes lol. would they rescind my admission if I withdraw from this class??

Hey! I am actually having the same issue. I am taking an elective and I am planning to withdraw. I contacted the UCBerkeley admissions office today and they told me there shouldn’t be a problem if It isn’t a prereq and I have over 60 units. So I am submitting an Academic Update that shows on my UCB portal and they should respond in a week. She also told me not to withdrawal until I have an official written response saying it’s ok. I don’t know if UCLA has the same procedure, but I’m guessing it may be similar.

Yup! I was waiting for ucla to release before I opted in for the waitlist at Berkeley. Glad I waited!

I applied to Coms with a 4.0 and strong essays from a San Diego CC and got rejected, you guys think an appeal is worth my time?
Does UCLA check all the UC courseworks requirements before admitting and already made sure what you’ve put on the UC app is sufficient?
