UCLA Fall 2021 Transfers

didn’t it say in the ucla alumni scholarship invitation email that getting that email does not affect admissions?

hey im also applying from a 4-year and i got the email. thats weird

Yes, apparently it says that it is not indicative of admission. Many people who receive the email aren’t admitted - but it looks like even more people who don’t receive the email are rejected…
I don’t know why a student with a strong GPA would not receive the email unless something pretty important is lacking in their profile

I had this same question awhile ago and I found out we have to take three quarters of Calculus one. I saw on assit.org that they just added the third quarter requirement Summer 2020.

I’m hoping all applicants got the alumni scholarship email and everyone who says they didn’t (including myself) somehow overlooked it…

ig the 4th week of april is next week then tbh

this is the bad part about deleting emails without even barely glancing at them first, i don’t even remember whether i ever got an email myself or not. a lot of people who DID get something said it was back in february and i’m not gonna have any emails from then if they got trashed by mistake. the only periodic emails i definitely remember getting from ucla (and berkeley) are about dorms/housing but personally i don’t think there’s any correlation. so many people apply to ucla every year reading too much into the fine lines just creates more stress.

The longer we go without official admissions office communication, the more I’m convinced that UCLA might try and hog the spotlight and release next week without any other UCs. The fact that we’re so close to Wednesday and haven’t heard anything, and LA sharing a decision release day with Berkeley being unlikely leads me to this conclusion.

Just wanted to let you guys know a lot of these things mean nothing, dont stress yourself out. I got rejected from UCLA with TAP last year. I also received multiple emails from UCLA financial aid regarding the Alumni scholarship.

I’m also from a 4-year institution and got the e-mail (both). I don’t know if it makes a difference but I’ve also taken several classes at my local community college. Good GPA.

Thank you

Ucla transfer student center: * says I love transfers in their ig profile pic*

🥲I know right. The irony oml

When i go to grad school…don’t be surprised if I do a paper on The dreadful wait: Why universities should provide students with decision dates and the health implications associated

Omg please write about it. Incoming college students would appreciate it so much

so about the alumni email thing

i applied back in 2019 as an incoming freshman, and later got rejected (hence why i’m applying as a transfer now lmao)

after hearing abt the email thing i went into my email and looked for it. turns out i never got it back in 2019. only received ones regarding housing and general ucla info. this time around, I received it.

not sure if it has to do w/ it just being a freshman v transfer application, or maybe they just send it out to random applicants? idk.

they do literally state in the email that it has absolutely nothing to do w/ indicating admission, but again idk

just thought i’d give some insight from the perspective of a previously rejected applicant. i hope we all get in tho!! good luck all:)

You even not got in waitlist? I was in wl last yr and got official reject in the middle of September. I wouldn’t be surprised if they release the results on May 1 since the pool becomes much bigger.

same here
