UCLA (in state tuition) vs Rice...help!!!!!!11

I love both schools, but am having a very difficult time. Any thoughts... Its hard to pass up instate tuition especially since my rents r footing the bill. I'd feel horrible making them pay so much more unless its really worth it. Getting into grad school any easier at a private? vs a large public like ucla. Lastly, social sciences arent ranked as high at rice? But then again a much smaller school with less faculty and not as much of a grad student focus as ucla (could account for lower rankings in econ/poli sci/etc)

Rice is a wonderful place, but if you’re talking about a difference of 15 to 20 thousand a year, it may not be worth it. UCLA is a great school. If you feel like you’d fit in there, I’d save the money for grad school.

UCLA is a great place to go for undergrad and with that instate price, I would find it very hard to give that up, even for Rice.

Though I love Rice, I vote for UCLA in your case.

^ i second that

half scholarship to rice vs ucla?

Is this something you’re seriously considering? It looks from your other posts as if you’re already committed at UCLA. If you’re considering a waiting list position, we might be able to answer your questions if they were more specific.
