all we know is that, by this time for the past 4 years that we have researched, applicants who were eventually accepted could, for the MOST part, see their financial aid award summary, provided that they submitted a FAFSA and did so correctly. those who could NOT see it at this time were either denied or failed to submit a FAFSA. we can say that with at least 90% accuracy (only 1 or 2 members here described any sort of discrepancy)

@thiscannotbe, I’M SORRY no, no, no, that wasn’t my intention. we do not know for sure! this could all be shown to be absolute BS in 40 hours! it’s all speculation at this stage.

@PsychBruin2012 www.admissions.ucla.edu/applicant/decision/default.htm

@justinetruant - It’s okay. I just feel like, since I worked so hard these past two years to get all As, and if I get rejected, it’s like I wasted my time at a CC when I could have been at another school. :/

Can anyone here see the fafsa info but ucla is a reach for them? I mean be honest if you have a 3.2 and you’re a biz econ major your chances are slim.

@thiscannotbe, I completely understand. I think many of us do. unfortunately (and this is not to make a comment about whether I, in my extremely limited knowledge, have any idea whether or not anyone has been accepted), plenty of us with 4.0s will be rejected, simply because the competition is too high. that’s why we need to have backup plans and we need to be realistic. if we enter this with our heads too big (not that yours is!), we’ll be sorely disappointed in the end.

but that sort of talk is a little too pessimistic, I think, given that we won’t know anything until Friday! we’ll all be fine, regardless of what happens!

She had a 3.9 all pre reqs done but calc 2, bio major, and she got the alumni scholarship call last week. I hope this financial aid jumbo is true and hers is still processing.

What if everyone that got their financial aid information gets rejected and those we didnt get it all get accepted?

@sean - uhhhh you’re deff competitive!! I have a 3.57 :(

@bear, If she got the alumni scholarship call, I’m fairly certain her chances of being admitted are EXTREMELY high, like 99.99% (anyone have different information?). So, either her URSA will update within the next 40 hours OR she’ll join the group of only two people who, in the past 4 years, have said on CC that finaid awards on URSA didn’t indicate anything for them.

@citizen well my GPA is still .03 below the average admitted. can you see your financial information? and are you TAP certified?

It’s funny to come back to CC after so long only to see what my admissions cycle went through (2011) is still being perpetuated lol. It’s stressful now but I guarantee you guys will look back fondly once you transfer to wherever universities you end up at. I’ll throw in my two-cents as well, hopefully it’ll alleviate some of your worries.

Whereas others in this forum were able to see their Financial Aid/tracking document info, I wasn’t. That is, until a few hours past midnight the day decisions came out. (I had checked at midnight, no info; I then checked around 4am, and bam: info). URSA maintenance is conducted sometime in the early hours between those two times. So, if you haven’t seen anything just yet, it doesn’t necessarily mean you’re rejected; I was accepted.

And point number II: I never took a summer class at, nor had I ever registered/associated myself with, UCLA. For the MyUCLA thing…I was NEVER able to access it/see it until literally one hour before decisions came out. Then I saw my name and major.

Thank you guys! Good luck to everyone!!!

Yeah I can see the financial aid info…I also got an email in February to send a transcript. Tried to take that as a good sign that they were at least interested in me. Not tap certified, but I think I have essays that could help me out

@bearterritory3: is your sister doing calc 2 in the spring now? Because according to UCLA website:

@justinetruant: yeah, I guess so. well, worst case scenario, i’ll just go to USC, haha.
- about the alumni scholarship call: I didn’t get a call, but my friend did, and he has a 3.3 GPA for econ, definitely not competitive. And I looked it up - http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/7875022-post12.html , they just call random applicants, it seems.

@Levonoid, thanks a lot for the insight!

What you said seems to be consistent with the running theories here, so apparently we’ve all got confirmation that parts of our speculation are correct! :)

I’m a transfer applicant to UCLA btw.
Ummm… okay, so I logged onto URSA. I know I know I wasn’t supposed to.
There are changes online now.
