@northbeach okaay thanks for info. Supposedly it takes about 4 weeks to process if I order them in person so I probably will have to go do it online…I was googling about sending transcripts and it seems like a handful of students submitted them in person to the admissions office. I guess it’s safer that way but I guess.

interesting. it is my understanding that the transcripts must be sent from the school otherwise they may be counterfeit. that is pretty standard procedure, so i am not sure what the circumstances were for the students you mentioned—unless those were “unofficial” transcripts. UCSB states that the transcripts must be sent directly from the school. but i have not read the UCLA requirements yet. wow, i am sleepy right now. probably babbling incoherently. glad we all made it through this last week.

@northbeach Hmm I’m not exactly sure but they said as long as it’s sealed it should be good. I’ll call them sometime and ask to be sure. But I’m sure it’ll be more convenient for you to mail it since you live in NorCal

^^ Yeah the envelope usually says that if you open it than it is no longer “official”.

So I got rejected from UCLA. I even had TAP so they looked at my application twice. Once for my (impacted) major aka History, and then a second time for my (non-impacted) major choice aka European Studies. idk, but I think they did not read my personal statements. I think that is what’s saving me with the other UCs I got in to. I’m not too upset about the rejection, but I will def cry if Cal does not accept me.

northbeach PM me dude if you have Facebook.

@BreakersGo67
ah, sorry to hear that. did you complete all the prereqs? history is impacted, i completed 6, yes i know very nerdy, 6 and they only asked for 3.

@uckitty
mark zuckerman sucks, i turned off my Facebook. pm me here.

@philosoup
cool. some schools say to have them sent directly, maybe others don’t care. oh, and my the way this “sending transcripts” is bogus. all this info should be available online if we release it to the schools that way. but no, we are living in the dark ages dudes. this is when i miss europa!

@northbeach I did. If I didn’t get into UCSD I would be more sad. but I’m actually content. But Congrats to you! UCLA is a wonderful campus. And it’s better to be over prepared with your prereqs than under.

^ I don’t even know how I’m going to get all my transcripts sent over on time, seeing as we finish finals June 29 and it takes up to a week for grades to be published…then a few days to get the transcript…I hope their lenient on us quarter system students. I guess people have done it before so it must work out, but it seems unnecessarily stressful. I wish the deadline was a bit later.

@newsoul

lol, there’s no reason to worry. They won’t hold that against you. Trust me, you’ll be perfectly fine.

@newsoul
this is how i understand it:

you can send transcripts now. and i believe they want them (twice) again in august. that is what i read on the website, but don’t ask me to tell you where. and you don’t have to SIR before sending them (although most people do). they just need the official transcripts for the stuff you posted on your application and TAU. then again before fall semester starts AFTER the spring grades have been reported. no wonder you were stressed.

anyway, give the admissions office a call and hear it from them.
next monday i will be submitting my transcripts to UCLA and CAL, if i am accepted. then i will decide where to go sometime after that. rock on. good luck all.

@newsoul

It was under the contract tab on the decisions site. It reads:

Submit official transcripts from all colleges/universities you attended. We must receive transcripts of all work completed through fall 2011 by June 1, 2012; transcripts of all work completed through spring 2012 must be received by July 15, 2012. If you attend any college or university during the summer 2012, official transcripts must be received by September 1, 2012, or three [3] weeks from the end of the term. If you are transferring from a California community college or a University of California campus and will complete IGETC or UC Reciprocity, respectively, submit your official certification by September 1, 2012.

I hope this clears everything up. I am also on the quarter system. I guess we just send our transcripts twice.

Is anyone else unable to access the Bruin Card application?

Oh, sorry, I should have been clearer. I do know we need to send it twice (at least for LA, let’s see what Cal wants…), but the second date is by July 15. @AllFields, your quarter system is one week shorter than mine, so I assume you don’t finish quite as late as us… We finish June 29. So we have two weeks to get grades back, get the transcript, and have it make it to our UC of choice. I’m sure it’ll be fine, I’m just stressing that some technical error will get me if publishing grades/printing the transcript gets delayed or something. It’ll probably be fine… People have transferred out of De Anza before, so I can figure it out now…but dang, the system never does seem to favor the quarter schools.

colors, yep can’t access bruincard

I can access the bruincard. I submitted my photo before I was officially in haha I was eager

@newsoul
ah, i see. well the schools by law have to get their grades posted in time for us to send them to the schools we are going to attend, well, at least within the public school system. it is a hassle. we all need personal assistants to deal with all our paperwork. frankly, school is not really about learning much except how to deal with bogus paperwork. and they could access this junk online—that’s what makes it so silly. i have literally had to spend 150 in gas just driving to my school to submit one lame document that was available on the web. but we made it! haha good luck peeps.
